Learning how little Rae knows about movie history :P some of these are considered among the greatest of all time!

Jam

Can I just say, Rae as a blonde is hot! It looks so good on her!

Kaylee VanFleet

Slightly triggered with the lack of mention of Bruce lees curse that followed brandon lee

Mark (Buffalo) Watling

you guys have been mentioning going to idaho a lot recently

sarah johnson

John Landis deserves to be in prison. If not for the manslaughter, then for spawning his disgusting creature of an offspring, Max.

Manekage

As an observation, I'm always surprised to see so many modern content creators be unaware of well-known and often-referenced pop culture facts - not even due to age, just simply oblivious to them for some reason

Vagus

This is episode is so good, we need more scary/true crime stories

Tyty

qt is right, there are a lot of great movies covered here but apocalypse now is really one of those ones you have to see. its incredibly well made and all the stunts and set pieces were choreographed with so much detail

joeypantsfan

I just want to say it's very funny how QT and Rae's appreciation of each movie differs wildly depending on whether it's the original release trailer or it's a newly made trailer for the 4K remaster of the movie. Edit: After finishing this Patreon bonus, I found myself reading a bunch of the Wikipedia article titled "List of film and television accidents", and you know what? Would not recommend. Not a fun read.

BisonHero

Ludwig, is that you?! xD

Cat Nora

I think the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland originally used real skeletons too. They’ve since been replaced because props have gotten more realistic over the years

Emily Finn

Obligatory mention of a missed 6 7 reference at 17:12

77katz77

I think there's a clip on YouTube of the helicopter crash where you see them get hit and get submerged in water

Gabriel Miguel

I think it's crazy how the exorcist literally broke audience's minds in the 70s. They hadn't really seen a movie like it until then; it had people fainting, throwing up and even leaving the theaters

Brooklyn Gordon

Aiden should do a history of Canadian Thanksgiving because the most interesting thing is that unlike America's we really have no idea why we do Thanksgiving. One theory is a ship was about to go back to Europe but the trip got cancelled so they just opened the hold and let the town have a feast instead of unloading the shop again

BS

Next year he should dress up as Freddy Kruger

BS

100% had the same experience. There's sometimes faces that pop up in random corners that can jump scare you but I wouldn't say it's a scary movie. Definitely a good starting place for "scardy cats" to start if they're curious about horror movies. I will say though I'm sure it blew people's minds in the 70s when a little child was talking about getting fucked while stabbing her crotch with a cross. Also the ending caught me completely off guard

BS

just wanna say the pod has been on a roll recently, the new episodes keep getting better

ubiiiiiiiiiiiii

They didn’t mention that Brandon Lee was the son of superstar Bruce Lee who also tragically died young.

In case anyone was interested, the crash that happened 66.6km away from a place called Ommem is a myth. The crash reportedly happened near Leeuwarden, in the northern Netherlands — not near Ommen, despite the popular myth. The “Ommen / 66.6 km” detail appears to be a later embellishment that fed into the so-called Omen curse legend.

I remember when I was a kid I kept asking if I could watch the Exorcist and of course the adults always said no because it's so scary and I'd always heard it hyped up to be soooo scary whenever I heard anyone mention it! Like the pinnacle of Horror movies. I was finally allowed to watch it when I was like 11 with my older cousin and was like wtf.. it's not even scary lmao some parts are even kinda comical with how fake you can tell it is. Such a let down, never watched it since. I guess at the time it came out it was a different experience and may have seemed more realistic with what they could do back then but yeah, it's not hard to watch at all. I like the concept of the movie though and it's very interesting to hear about all that happened irl on set/with the actors!

Alanna M

I really don’t think they’re the best people to do that kind of presentation… like they’re dressing up for it as well.. I would much rather have funny interesting segments as our thanksgiving special.

kales

I really hope the thanksgiving presentations are about the genocide of the Native American people that lived here before Columbus showed up. The roots of Thanksgiving are horrible. It’s a nice time with family for a good meal, but if we’re talking about history presentations I think this would be a hard watch if it wasn’t about the real roots of the genocide that happened to indigenous populations.

Tesla Cox

I’m surprised QT didn’t know about Roman Polanski and his wife Sharon Tate, aside from the Manson family thing, she posed for playboy under his creative direction and it’s one of the most iconic photo shoots they had. It’s very unique, it has a horror theme that was never seen previously in the magazine.

Lightwood

Rae’s “oh that’s unlucky” response to a devil baby is 10/10 lol

NotBetsy

why do the recent episodes no auto caption no more🥲

Yupooman

I feel like calling it a helicopter crash on the twilight zone undersells it, they dropped a helicopter on top of these poor people

I don't know what to name myself

Frank, It, poor Austin can't catch a break 😩

lilmisschief xo

rae saying mia farrow dodged a bullet by being left by frank 😅 (she ended up with woody allen and uh. google it). but yeah seems like frank sucked too.

Ameera Sylvian

Surprised what QT was reading did not mention Brandon Lee was Bruce Lee's son (Yes, THE Bruce Lee) and there was a conspiracy that it wasn't a mistake, but a murder plot by the Chinese mafia.

CorporateAF

i grew up on horror movies (prob not a great decision from my mother but wtv) and even then, poltergeist scared the HELLLLL out of me when I was a kid. that and amityville

Ana ☆

didn’t realize jacob elordi was in the exorcist

Ana ☆

The exorcist is one of the major reasons we had the satanic panic and the rise of modern exorcisms. Exorcists have a union now because of how popular it is AND they're also not only catholic now and modern deliverance ministry in the evangelical churches sometimes put out buckets during mass exorcism services because they expect people to start vomiting

Todd Sutherland

I'm at work and it was a jumpscare hearing my name listed amongst the dead actresses from Poltergeist

Dominique

Ngl I was doubting em that they will present this slideshow. I thought they were going to forget. Mika is a fan of Christina, confirmed.

Torayume

This was much fun watching people hearing about these films first time.

Pookha hare

Gremlin on wings originally in TV twilight zone with William shatner.

Pookha hare

Twilight zone was more brazen incompetence. Total disregard for safety.

Pookha hare

Poltergeist was far more known as a cursed film than exorcist.

Pookha hare

Exorcist came out in 73 when I was in middle school. Going to see it was almost a rite of passage. https://www.syfy.com/syfy-wire/was-the-exorcist-set-really-cursed-and-haunted

Pookha hare

wahoo!
