The parasocial/dating part of the conversation barely scratches the surface of how bad the situation is tbh - the communities that are focused on dating content for young men are extremely sexist. I think these ladies are only able to deal with it because they are so successful. AMP and Faze get so much praise for how popular they are but they are popular largely because A LOT of their content is parasocial bait with women. I never was an AMP watcher or Faze watcher so I didn't know how bad it was until Streamer University and Jason interacting with my favorite streamers. Agent is one of the good guys who doesn't seem to farm that content but how many women have gone onto Kai's streams to be humiliated or used as content. And with Jason I noticed it when even POKI was getting called "Jason's ball" which is unbelievable. That's one of the icons of the streaming space and all his audience just saw her as an object for content. A part of me believes his community only doesn't treat QT the same way is because she established the auntie title early and she has Ludwig. Also I'm sure its obvious but calling someone a "ball" is literally calling them an object to play with. And don't even get me started on how Kai platforms deadbeat dads and women beaters. It's not a conversation usually had in the streamer space since everything is meant to be lighthearted but this kind of thing is the result of the type of content that is aimed at young men, and unlike these wonderful ladies there are a lot of women that get caught in the crosshairs of these communities that people just brush off. Sorry for the rant I'm just annoyed at the state of relationship content for young men and idk where else to complain about it.
