2024-04-04 01:26:22 +0000 UTCFrom the shop owner's perspective, if she was offered a special deal from the landlord, she may not want to share that at risk of losing that offer if other people start going to the landlord questioning why they aren't getting the same deal. It sucks but sometimes you do have to look out for yourself. She may have thought you already discussed the price with the landlord, and then if she tells you she is paying 7k, but the landlord told you 10k, you might go to the landlord and be like "hey 10k doesn't seem fair, they told me you only charge them 7k". In a perfect world, sure everyone should share that information and then the landlord would reduce the cost for everyone. In reality, the landlord gets pressed about the price and then raises everyone's up to match the person with the higher rent, not the other way around. Especially in the current economic climate we are in where rent is constantly going up.
