Everyone had just left and their house was a quarter mile off the road while they were in the house a car came in the drive way they didn’t recognize they thought that was weird but maybe they are turning around. Then they heard “door open” they spent the next 30 minutes hiding in the bathroom with a butcher knife until someone came home (before cell phones). Their grandparents got cameras after that

2023-12-06 21:30:29 +0000 UTComg thats horrifying. definitely hard to think clearly in those moments. i think ive heard youre supposed to yell and inform them youve called the authorities, barricade yourself in a room, hide with a weapon (if nothing else behind a blind corner to give you the best odds of getting a jump on them) but make sure you dont hurt your loved ones by mistake. a slim bat (aluminum or wood) is pretty decent defensive weapon in close quarters. easy to wield, enough room to swing quickly but forgiving enough to stop mid-swing in case you realize its a loved one, and obviously less lethal than a gun (awful defensive weapon in a home). they also have dope flashlight bats that are blindingly bright for another equalizing factor.
