But I think any perceived judgement from men, regarding periods, is just the woman projecting her own self conscious insecurities. MAYBE those insecurities come from middle school boys being grossed out about it. But grown adults know better. I bet I have at least as many embarrassing cumming the bed stories as any woman has perioding the bed. And as far as walking around the supermarket with a period stain, literally nobody ACTUALLY cares. The only person who DOES care, is the person who feels the need to inform the woman. If you tell the woman, YOU are the one embarrassing her, YOU are the one making her feel ashamed. Everyone else who saw it, went about their day treating it as normal. There person who feels the need to mention it, is the person who viewed it as a problem. I understand why a woman would feel the need to inform another woman, trying to convince themselves that they’re trying to just “help a fellow woman out”. But REALLY they’re just projecting their own insecurity onto another woman; because they know they’d feel embarrassed if it was them, so they ASSUME the other woman would be as well.

But I also don't see that much of a problem with it if everyone involved is aware and ok with it. It just seems like it's a lot to go through/get involved with. I didn't even know it was a thing until recently since I was of the assumption that period's aren't typically the most fun time for women and having any kind of sex would be like the least of their worries? But I guess there are some hardcore vamps out there, shouts out to them.

She wasn’t able to use them before so I taught her how to as an adult. I’m glad that I haven’t said anything to her and that I am now able to recognize that it’s a ridiculous pressure from puritanical societal norms and not pass that anxiety on to her.

If you were both sitting in front of white solid backgrounds it might feel a bit clinical for a podcast like this which has always had a bit of a cozy feel? You could try it out though!

A few YouTubers I watched back in the day had paper backdrops & when they were done filming, they’d just roll it up & tuck in into a corner. Can you also keep the butterflies? They were really cute
