I agree with QT on the cheating tier list though bc of someone like Kendrick Lamar who cheated out of an addiction to women that was a coping mechanism, and by his partner showing him compassion he felt courageous enough to go to therapy and be better. So there’s some types of cheating that can be worked through imo.

He's a great resource for recently out queer people that don't have supportive family or friends irl, especially queer people of color. With his content, they have someone teaching them very explicit how-tos so they can be safe when exploring their sexuality! Honestly wish I had something like that for queer women when I was coming out and exploring my own cuz all I had was Tumblr posts :')

He, himself, the actor of the guy recognizes that he's the bad guy. He projects his desire and issues onto Summer, never respecting her autonomy or place she is in her life. He jumps from girl to girl to fill his void.

2023-07-13 22:35:59 +0000 UTCI also talk on the phone and take meetings in the shower 🙈 I mostly do it with my close friends or my boss, but I work a pretty big corporate job and there's 100+ of us on the same call every Thursday and myself and some other members of management (including a couple directors) literally call it hair washing day because we all take showers during that call. 🫡 The only rule is that if/when it's your time to speak you better be ready and we better be able to hear you clearly.

Curious though cus maya mentioned how the woman couldn’t just leave when Jonah said “if you don’t agree just leave” because of codependency etc but at the same time she said Jonah should just leave if he got cheated on? Does it not work both ways? Anyways he’s an insecure man child with controlling issues for sure. Also why release this AFTER he welcomed his child and then say it was so the new woman could make an educated decision? I haven’t watched 500 days of summer in a while, I’ll have to rewatch because I have heard the theory that the guy is the bad guy

I think Joseph Gordon Levitt's character just isn't as emotionally developed as Zooey Deschanel's character. You don't get inside her brain like you do his so naturally you're going to sympathize with him more. But neither character did anything wrong in the tiktok drama pick a side type of way. A key scene in the movie is when they watch the Graduate (which parallels 500 days of summer in so many ways) and she sees how he isn't moved by it at all and clearly doesn't understand how depressing and sad the ending is.

She’s a surfer & he knew that when entering into the relationship. Even if she did cheat, which she most likely didn’t, it still doesn’t give him the right to blow up on her like that.
