Been watching since the 1st live episode and I know there's the EX-BF talk and it's sometime pretty funny, sometime dark and that's life, it's okay and it's good. I think any silicone type material might not be able to hold in the blood in a mesh like thing. I assume the material would need to have absorbent properties to do that and if it has those, then it'll be pretty difficult to clean it out and make it reusable. Another thing is cost because almost half the population menstruates and if it is not affordable it does not make sense. So a menstrual cup, I feel, checks all boxes because it is so easy to sterlize and while there is fancy equipment for that, boiling it with water also gets the job done.

Hey big menstrual cup enthusiast here. You can absolutely do it with long nails with just being a little careful. Also, yea there is a slight learning curve to it because we all have different anatomies and you just take a little time to adjust to what angles work for you but it is actually super comfortable. Just make sure you get the right size because usually the ones for people who have never given birth are not only smaller but also the silicon is less "tough" and easier to insert. Also ik there are ones without a stem but to start off, getting one with a stem is probably better. (I am not paid off by big mestrual cup btw)
