Considering Some Changes for Chapter 2

Hey lovelies,

I am considering changing my format a little for the second chapter and would love to hear your feedback:

I am considering dividing the two pages I post per month to be two different storylines. One would be a shorter patreon-only comic featuring Brush and Victor and the other would be the official chapter 2 featuring Zoey, Felicia, Xanthos, and Balios.

I wish I could keep to two pages of the official chapter a month and do the other comic as a bonus but I simply do not have the resources to do that currently.

I am so appreciative of all of the support you guys provide me with in the form of pledges, favorites, and comments. You guys are The Stable's support system and I would not be able to do this without you. I really would like to offer a exclusive patreon only comic for you and I just don't feel right doing it with my Stable spin-off comic commissions.

The Pros are:

1)You get to see what most of The Stable's characters are up to in any given month, I can explore the relationships and build the world in two different paths.

2) This will actually move the story along faster as the Brush/Victor story I was going to do for chapter 2 really wouldn't have moved the plot along much, but would have help establish their relationship better. The zoey/fel/zan/bal story I planned for chapter 3 will be furthering the plot and introducing a new character who I know you are all going to love. ;)

3) This will allow me to post content that all of my patreons would enjoy. you may have noticed that Brush's story and Zoey's are quite different, and explore different fetishes and adult situations, if I am working on two stories at once I can have content that everyone would enjoy.

4) your get more out of your pledge because of the exclusive content

5) A patreon only comic may encourage more patreons to join, thus allowing me to reach my next goal and post more comic pages per month!

The Cons:

1)  This will slow the stories down because I will only be posting one page of each story per month, until I reach my next comic page goal(which may happen faster due to #5 of the pros) and can begin posting two pages from the official chapter 2 and one of the brush/victor story.

2) it may get confusing,, especially with the comic  commissions I have going on.  Although I can fix this problem by starting to post links in the description to the previous comic page of that story.

Anyway,  I think you can probably see which direction I am leaning, but I really value your input,  please let me know what you think!

Much Love!

Hey Abraxas, Thanks for taking the time to write this. I completely get what you are saying about sticking to one story line to drive the story forward. The two stories I have planned will actually be linked up, and doing the chapters this way allows my readers to see what everyone is up to, more or less at the same time, instead of taking so many months to see what brush and victor are up to and then jumping back to zoe and company. I will definitely do bonus pages here and there to help drive the story forward. Maybe I should restructure my goals so I can reach 3 pages quicker? This is something I am going to seriously look into because I really do want to be able to do more pages per month and tell more of the story. I am hoping that by offering a publicly released comic and a patreon only section of the comic I can attract more patreons which will in turn allow me to be able to devout more time to this story. I have seen this work for other artists. Also if in another year I have not attracted enough new patreons to be doing at least 3 pages per month then I am going to have to seriously consider other options for securing funding to drive the story forward, but with the steady growth I have seen in my first year hopefully this won't be an issue. Also, The Stable is not going to be one simple story following a traditional story arc with a big tying everything together happy ending. I plan this to be more of a series following the adventures and exploring life at The Stable, because of this format I believe that focusing too much on one particular set of characters may isolate many of the fans who may be more interested in the other characters. As for the slow pace of the comic, I am constantly working to improve my story telling abilities to both build atmosphere and move the story along quicker, when I look back at chapter 1 I can see many instances where I could have definitely moved the story along quicker without sacrificing atmosphere and the quality and I plan on applying that learning to the next part of The Stable. Anyway, thanks again for your thoughts, you have given more a lot to ruminate on. I will work hard to make sure the next chapters of The Stable move the story along much quicker and I will be exploring other options which will allow me to produce more pages per month.

When I joined to pledge for the comic, I chose the amount of my pledge so that it would unlock the second page per month. My personal logic behind it was pure math: unlocking two pages meant 24 pages per year of the main story. If I look at the way you write the scripts for your pages, you take your time to build atmosphere. Take the shower scene for example. For two whole pages (10&11) we see nothing else but Zoey showering. Now this might be very valueable for building the atmosphere and letting us learn about the character. But it does not drive the story onward. And to put it back into perspective of having 12 pages per year, we can expect the story to run for three years without actually progressing all too far. I pledged, having this in mind: to give you the chance to drive the story forward in a reasonable timeframe and open the chance of finishing it. I don't need any special treatment as a supporter, don't need any patreon only content. I pledge for your work so that you may be in the position to create and share your creation publically. Since you ask for the opinion of your supporters, here is mine: continue with two pages on the main story. It is what you prommissed when you created the patreon tiers and it is what will truely attract more readers and supporters: a continueous story that advances and where readers want to know: what will happen next? It will keep you from loosing readers because having to wait a full month before knowing what might be happening next is by far enough time to loose interest in the rich offerings of FA and other websites.
