Dev Log 0.34b: Beauty and the Breast

Happy Preview Day!

Also Happy ANZAC day.

And apparently Italian Liberation Day?

Anyway... that's story time stuff...

For this week, it took a while to really get through the bug log, which I may have been forgetting to take notes on for the change log... It certainly didn't help that I could barely see due to constant eye irritation, which is also story time.

But then my writers came in to save me again, the first is a scene for when you first arrive. Cassidy is checking out the forest and really getting to grips with nature.

After that, Carla will still deliver you breakfast in bed. Just, she might also be interested in a treat as well. There is some expanded content in here that requires Sami to be progressed a bit, but that's just how it goes sometimes.

Finally, when you drink the tea on Sunday, you can solve your problem in a more intimate fashion.

Not quite the deluge as we had last week, but more than I thought I would manage.

Also, it looks like we are going to finish up Carla C5 next week at which stage we are going to need another character request, which I'll probably post in a few days. It is also likely to be another scene request time coming up. Maybe I'll run it at the same time as development again? I feel that went well last time, but we'll see. As always I will keep you appraised of what I think is best.

Now, story time:

So at the tail end of last week I actually had some terribly minor eye infection, yay, it happens. Normally I wouldn't even mention it, not that it's a regular occurrence. But I did my best to keep my eye clean and dry as you should. Only, even when everything was cleaned up I just could not stop crying, and I wasn't even sad at all! Except about the crying of course, but that's more a chicken and egg thing.

So... to cut a long story short, eucalyptus tissues are not appropriate for eye dabbing. I might as well have been rubbing menthol gel directly onto my eyeballs. And boy did I feel stupid when I figured that one out. Here I was going to have some story about me getting sick and taking half a week off just to give myself some time to recover as I'm sitting there with burning eyes and doing my best to sleep it off. You know, knowing my limits and taking care of myself... turns out I'm actually just an idiot.

Of course my work week wasn't helped when ANZAC day came around and took another half day out of me. But I guess it's better to put all the interruptions in one mediocre week rather than spread them out and mess up momentum.

Now, ANZAC day. It's kind of like our veterans day, only it's different. It's got the parade with the banners and the bands and all that, but the meaning behind it is all a bit different than just that single phrase: Lest we forget.

For us, it goes back to WW1, specifically the ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) landing at Gallipoli. This was the first time Australia (and New Zealand) strode out onto the world stage as a nation instead of just some British auxiliaries. It was when we became more than just a colony and we actually did something as, well... the ANZACs. Even if it was a tragedy.

The campaign did not go well for us. No shortage of heroes or corpses.

Beyond that it does have the general veteran's day type stuff, remembering those who served and didn't come back and all. Anyway, that's enough of a history lesson for now. It's time for me to sleep once more.
