Dev Log 0.25a: Rejiggling

What a fun week. Sometimes you just get to feel good about what you've achieved.

Of course it didn't start off that way. I wrote a scene that pops up if you're terrible to Haily. Writing that one made me sad, but it's supposed too. After that it was just cleanup on the remainder of Haily C4, and that's all done now.

We've got some quality wholesomeness a couple of kisses, even some hand holding.

The first bit is that if you are going on the date with Haily, she will now be preparing food in the kitchen before hand. Got to have some fun there. After that Haily will now say goodbye properly at C4. And then finally there was a bit of rewriting in Haily by the Lake to also have that make sense at C4.

Also, apparently, the Itch.IO app cannot download any file that is externally hosted. As of last version the game was officially larger than 1gb, which is Itch's file size limit. Well, something I've been putting off for a while is reducing a bunch of image file sizes. The game is now 400mb smaller, shaving off a bit over 1/4 of the total file size. I'll probably hit it again soon but there is a non-zero chance of it introducing bugs. I think I got them all, but I can't be sure, they are the type that only appears when you run into them in game. If you see them, it will be a cannot find cg ****.png. Please kindly pass on any of those, not that you don't anyway and I don't expect any but... yeah, anyway...

Hmmm... All this looking into things that Haily cooks, I did try my hand at cream pie. But it was a sloppy one, the custard wasn't thick enough so it didn't set, so I just ended up eating a bowl of custard. And that's fun and all, but not the optimal way to eat custard. Next I might try milk braised pork... That stuff looks delicious. Although maybe that's just because the recipies online get a really nice crust on the pork...

Regardless, it's too late at night to be getting this hungry. I'm sign out.

Also I got the upgrades to Lisa's cryptic quest done. Just having my chief puzzle tester look it over before actually throwing it out there again. Hopefully I've really toned down the frustration, while maintaining it's hardness.
