Weekly Build 0.23b: Fetality

Gosh is it Preview Release time already!

Oh right, also the next character poll will go up in a day or two if anyone is interested.

Okay, so it's been the first week in earnest of actually moving into pregnancy content. And I mean real pregnancy content. So many games get marked with that 'ol pregnancy tag because they have a little one shot of the girl/s pregnant. And for the longest time that's really what Cabin has been relegated too. Not something I've been proud of, but now, this week, we earn that tag.

Of course, as with real pregnancy, it's not just as simple as you shove it in, mix it around a bit and then happy times and babies. A surprising amount of ground work needed to be laid down. Really, it was a week where I half finished more things than I fully finished.

For instance, there was the call for more Alex pregnancy sprites. So I took a look at the ones I had and decided they weren't good enough. She didn't look pregnant enough and the pants were only hiding it. Redo the existing ones while I'm at it...

Alex has 9 outfits (or outfit permutations) and about 12 poses. Being pregnant means I am now doubling that. Took me a while to get the process down but that's still making, rendering and compositing 110 odd images. So I didn't quite get that finished but I took a decent chunk out of them...

But for the real shippable content it's all about Alex arriving pregnant. The guides are updated so it should be findable. Once you turn it on it starts to effect a lot of stuff in small ways. And it's all just scattered everywhere. The visible stuff is mostly on friday and in Lina soiled of all places, those were just the chunks that I was comfortable turning on.

The Alex's surprise dream has been moved into the loop and fleshes out a little, and there is also a little scene where you can meet Lisa in the kitchen and feed Alex like a little chipmonk. Writing this now I kind of want to add a little more too it... Anyway... You also get a new mail for finishing the loop with pregnancy turned on.

Also there was a Haily related scene request that was mostly finished but I just didn't quite have the right idea on how to finish it. That's when it's time to sit on things. And really, yeah little late on the scene request, but I'm not some sort of goober who'd quibble over that stuff, the only reason I bring it up is in case anyone else wants their scene requests they are owed. I bring it up when convenient for me, but that doesn't mean they just go away after the week has passed. I'm reasonable, you're reasonable, ain't no one gonna come along and ruin this for us.

All in all though, for story time, been struggling with brainspace a little. Cabin by the Lake is a large project and chews up a lot of that with just it's software architecture. It's not a problem on that side of Cabin though (Even if this is a pretty unfocused devlog), and as I say, I've been taking the time to relax, play some games and all that, real world stuff is handled. The thing that's falling out is the social media side of things.

I've got an Itch and a discord to manage (One patreon post a week isn't really anything that counts) and that is where a lot of my bug reports come in through (Thank you guys!). Discord makes it easy because it's all instant communication but I've been struggling to keep up with the fan's who come from Itch and their questions. Those folks deserve their Nunu time as much as everyone else.

Then there are the less official routes, pretty easy to google and I'll not mention them here. They give you access to some rather illicit mods people have made that are very against terms of service here. I do check those sites though, I have my fans there and there is no shortage of questions poping up there either. I could have found the time to answer them... but finding the space in my brain? That suckers full already! Which is sad because I should find time for them too.

It's also why my changelogs have been pretty light on bug fixes. It's not that the bug fixes aren't happening, but I've got most of the big ones and all these tiny little ones just fall out of my brain as soon as I do them.

Anyway, time for me to stop talking.
