Dev Log 0.10b: TBD

Boy have I got a novel for you today, but, firstly my preview tier Patrons can now access the upcoming version 0.09d.

So secondly, game updates this week. Haily has, to no ones surprise, demolished the poll once again and I've started production on scenes for her. The first part is a new version of the scene where she contacts you to keep in touch if you haven't messaged her. The old one didn't really make sense considering you had canonically stayed in contact with her. Also she might not accidentally send you that picture, but hey she's still a nice girl and you should try to stay in touch anyway. It's not much but Haily's next scenes are all pretty massive, just by nature of how you interact with her she deals with fewer larger scenes. And there is probably only one more scene in her current corruption level.

So if Haily won the poll, why is most of this weeks content about Jenny... The answer to that is that the folks who help me out with writing got really excited about Jenny and I had a backlog of scenes to arrange and place in the game. Backlogs empty now though. I know I'll be pivoting and they may be as well, but if inspiration strikes them... Well that would be a wonderful thing regardless of who it's about. So you can now meet Jenny on sunday morning while Lina has popped off somewhere, similarly a certain someone might be keeping their eye on you on Friday night. Finally you can also talk to Carla about Jenny if she has a corruption level.

Okay, so now story time...

This is going to be about the dev experience rather than specific issues, and it's not doom and gloom, rather... it's blog musings, so keep that in mind and if you're going to read some of it you have to read all of it, even if it's boring and rambly.

Last month (Technically the month before last but eh) was a fantastic month for growth. A lot of people seemed really excited and we grew on here by 50% of my entire count before that. As a creator it can be difficult to not judge yourself by the hard metrics like money and such. You never really know what views mean and comments can actually be pretty hard to come by, but if they take out their wallet, you know they are a fan. At the same time though I don't mean to denigrate people who can't or don't contribute financially, like I said last week, even a bug report shows that you care (and that goes for people who just comment and such as well).

But why am I talking about all this, you don't need my bragging in your day? May has been a pretty mediocre month by comparison. And I do mean mediocre, not bad, still showing consistent growth and everything. Really most of your months are going to be mediocre... that's what mediocre means. I may be Australian but I aint riding high on the road to Valhalla screaming "witness me". Even if that does sound pretty fun. I find it interesting though that the success of the preceding month can put a downer on what should otherwise be a fine thing.

Someone seeing a similar thing is AnotherBloomer, who launched very recently. They do great art (we will probably collab in the future) and when they dropped their stuff they exploded. Within a month though, they had bled over half their numbers... leaving them with still a very strong opening (far, far better than average, even after the initial dip) and a sour taste in their mouth because of the greater success that had just slipped away.

Really though I guess if I had to say something that all you can do about this, I'm not saying pull out your wallet. Money is important in that one day life will ask us to choose between our passions and the ability to keep eating and we want to be able to choose passion... BUT never forget that we do this for the passion, and passion isn't fueled by money. It is fueled by compliments. Find your favourite creator (or creators) and just tell them you love their work. When you've been stuck in your little box room slaving away for 6 hours on something and you hit refresh only to see your number tick down by one (Even if it's gone up by three earlier that day), it takes a toll on you.

But you get that message that just says "Nice tits" it really makes your day (Well... in the context of being an adult content creator anyway). You sit there and go, I'm doing all this for you nice tits guy. So yeah, I've really waffled on and all that, but still these are just some thoughts I've been having. I also want to say that this isn't some coded cry for help or anything, Nunu is doing just fine. Just... never be afraid to tell anyone you love (not just me) that you do love them, it might be the thing they need at that moment, even if they look like they are riding high.

I kinda feel like I'm saying something disingenuous... like oh those successful people have problems too. What I have to say about that is: happiness isn't a zero sum game, and more is always better. And everyone deserves to be happy, then if you're making people happy they will want to make you happy back and we all end up in a happy feedback loop... anyway...

I did have more to say but I've really been going on far to long anyway and it just gets kind of boring from here on out regardless. Catch you later!

- Love Nunu

'When you've been stuck in your little box room slaving away for 6 hours on something and you hit refresh only to see your number tick down by one (Even if it's gone up by three earlier that day), it takes a toll on you.' - This is something I can totally relate to. Likewise with everything else you write. I just dropped by and read your text here and thought I'd reply. Don't get me, wrong ,but it feels good that other devs feel similar. πŸ˜€ Never let yourself get down, you're doing a wonderful job! I played an earlier build of your game a few months ago and really loved it. When I find time again soon, I look forward to playing a newer build! Best regards and obviously: nice tits πŸ˜‰

A few things about the project that make me happy: -the constant stream of new content -the interesting differences in characters -How a few scenes for a less developed character surpas my expetations most of the time -the NICE TITS Keep up the good work. I hope this project never ends.
