Dev Log 0.09a: Mood

Well, this week some things happened that just robbed me of all my creative juices... and those are important. How can I be creative without my juices! Of course just because I sit down and stare at a screen for 3 hours instead of writing a new scene doesn't mean there isn't work to do! I took the time to clean up a bunch of things that had fallen behind, there were a whole lot of scenes that really should have been giving you corruption, but weren't? Solved. Haily's photo quest wasn't available in C1? Solved. Untradable photos? Solved.

So that's how this week has been going. Although on top of this one of my kind and caring fans has taken this opportunity to really ram their aid down my throat. And I have to thank them for that, they put together a few small additions that just really help the world feel a lot more alive. It is only in a handful of places but I think that stuff is super important to the world I want to create. I think feeling alive is where a lot of games fall down, but something Cabin by the Lake is uniquely designed to do very well.

Of course this isn't the only person that has been trying to help me, and I've still also been putting in some effort to prepare the tools for them to succeed. One of my largest fears in accepting help is that I might put the work of these people essentially to waste through my own mismanagement. I'm perfectly capable of managing a team, been doing it for a decade professionally, but part of that has taught me that you need to do it right. If you do it wrong you not only waste peoples time, effort and motivation, you actually lose more time managing people than you gain in work. Just about finished the required stuff for that to work though and I'm looking forward to increasing the amount of content that can be put out every week.
