In this video, we will be exploring how Set It Off crafts a film that is rooted in the intersection of class, gender, and sexuality it represents Black women in a way that I think is key in a feminist film.

Everytime a movie with an all-female cast comes out and people start rolling their eyes about how this is a feminist movie that will try to shove feminism down their throats, this is what I'm thinking. Not all female-led movies are feminist. And they don't need to be. People need to learn that we can centre marginalized perspectives without there being "an agenda" and "a message". That's just a knee-jerk reaction because we're used being fed art and culture from a cis white perspective. In other news, I need to Watch Set It Off already! It's embarrassing at this point.
