Unpacking *that* Reylo Article

This version is the Patreon pre-Youtube version hence why the credits are not in it yet. The reason why is because I was wondering what you all thought of the music playing in the background. I've heard it's helpful for the flow of a video so I put up this version and y'all can tell me if it sucks or helps. The final version that'll be up Monday will have the credits and tomorrow evening the Patreon Slave Play video should be up and Monday will be Q&A. $5+ a special writing episode will be up for y'all on Tuesday.

Liked the video. You made some really good points, as always, and I will forever appreciate your honest and self-awareness. I'm not into Star Wars but I completely understand the what it's like to get caught up in the Shipping Community.

I’m not invested in shipping Wynonna with anyone at all bc as a lesbian, I rarely find straight ships worth investing my time into now BUT they did Dolls so dirty, especially for Doc to just be a piece of shit. Pretty much all my Earp mutuals are white lesbian and queer women besides you and some of the TAKES I have seen about Shamier leaving were some of the worst-faith, mean things ever. I also can’t stand how Kate and Rosita were treated in the narrative and lowkey, kinda scared for what’s going to happen with this Valdez character, who already sounds pretty not good on paper from the original comic (Maya princess? Eh...). That writers’ room needs some WOC and Black and Indigenous women who know shit in there FOREVER ago. The only ship I’m really into is Wayhaught ofc and I LOVE them, don’t get me wrong, but I keep hearing so much about how Nicole’s *the* most important queer character on tv rn and...Sure, okay, I guess, I relate to her a lot but she’s a cisgender white woman! And a cop (the cop worship in this fandom gets me, too, lmao). And it’s 2020, we should have actual butch characters of color on TV. I’m looking forward to your Queer Shipping as a POC video bc BOY, do we need some catharsis. It’s like, I feel bad for not wanting to watch most of the Black tv shows bc of all the cisheteropatriarchal bs I know so intimately from irl and bc I’m not interested but then when I watch things I actually am interested in (genre), it has queer stuff but SUCKS at race, so it’s like where do I fit in? You articulated this phenomenon really well in one of your older videos from a couple years back, actually, having to get one type of representation from one show and the other from another and such. Okay, I’m done! Sorry, I needed to get that all off my chest. I LOVE the show dgmw at ALL, but boy, while they’re not glaring issues, they certainly exist and I’d love it if the “earpers are perfect people” idea could be examined more critically for reality.
