for national frikandel day, snack bar chain verhage (we hadn't heard of them before either, but apparently they have 38 stores in the netherlands) had a competition amongst their stores to fancy up a frikandel in some way, and our location in dordrecht had the winning entry.

i'm honestly surprised at how bad sushi is in the netherlands. we haven't tried the super high-end places yet, but everything up to the mid/upper mid price point is just not very good
