Didn't know what exactly, just wanted to try it out. I gave it a whirl a while back but ended up giving up when I couldn't find a design I liked; that eventually turned into the gryphon.
Well I had some time on my hands today and got to thinking about that... opened up blender and started fiddling around, and this is what fell out. Just prototyping at this point. It's probably too early to be worth sharing just yet really, but I'm using you guys as a way to force myself to stop for the night because it's very late but I keep fiddling with it. If I post something here it feels more "final" and maybe I'll be able to stop. x3
Anyway, burdbot. I tossed in a little turntable in the attachments if you want a better look. Thoughts?

I would suggest lots of normal maps for seams, or even selecting large curved chunks of the topo once it's finalized (and hopefully roughly even) and then bevel those for panels. Can't wait to see where this goes

2022-11-15 05:45:07 +0000 UTCIt’s looking pretty neat! I like the simple texture, as it gets that robot vibe out. Might need more gadgets though… and not just the naughty type! I always think of robots as essentially a bunch of cyborg-esque prosthetic limbs attached by wires or some other means. I don’t think it should be anything that complicated but those were my immediate thoughts…
