How does it feel to have GD (Feedback Please)

So, I've been wanting to make this sort of video for a while. Thank you so much for those who gave me their thoughts yesterday.

Now - I'm not the best video editor - so excuse this looking like I've done a presentation for my school project.

Please - I want to release this out in the wild - but I'd like your thoughts first.

Does this hit how i want it?

Do we think this would be helpful to anyone?

Am I being gentle enough here to ensure I'm not offending anyone?

Does it give you an sort of emotional response?

GenderPlay Books

Bit random but you sound like a news reporter for the BBC lol

ItsJodie96

Yeah 100%

GenderPlay Books

😅 Pretty sure that’s universal for our little community.

Poop 💩 I knew I'd make a mistake somewhere. I hate recording my voice 😅

GenderPlay Books

Totally get that, I hate it referred to one as well. It’s depressing that people just assume everything in the manual is a disorder. When it’s literally just a guidebook standardizing care. The point where you read out the population number I think you said 76million instead of 67million.

Bree C

What happens with thr stats again? Also, thank you for your kind words. I wanted to avoid talking about it as a mental health 'disorder'

GenderPlay Books

I think it was well made and asserts that there is no one answer for how it feels, just that it’s a type of pain that doesn’t go away, time cannot heal it as it does with grief and sadness. I think when it comes to GD it’s important to acknowledge that it is in the DSM not because it’s a mental disorder, but because it causes significant trauma to those with it. It’s a way of ensuring that the symptoms are known so they can be addressed and understood by the professional counselors that are going to see individuals suffering with it. In order to provide guidelines and a standardized level of care. The only thing I saw out of place was I think your statistics were read swapping the 6 and 7? Otherwise I think it was great and you should be proud of both it and yourself! It takes bravery to speak about something like this

Hey, I looked for you4 song and couldn't find it

GenderPlay Books

The voice in your head saying your not real, the itch beneath your skin, and hiding your true self

Sera

way to make me cry at the end there. I don't think you said anything that could offend anyone in a genuine way (excluding preformative bigotry ) I think a couple of the analogies got repeated or cut off

Carasibana

Which ones resonated with you?

GenderPlay Books

I think this was very tactfully presented. I liked that you polled the community to help describe what we all feel, while I didn't resonate with everyone, I saw some with a similar experience to see that I was never alone in what I feel.
