So, about those Patreon goals...
Added 2021-01-20 07:01:29 +0000 UTCIn a classic Ru move, I once again underestimated the community. I set up a couple of patreon goals for things that I figured would never happen under normal circumstances- The first goal was for a longer, multi-minute animation because hey, who's gonna drop several grand on that? Turns out a birb will, that's who. x3
Second goal was to put some sound in an animation because it's not something I'm super interested in and otherwise would never do. Turns out that doesn't matter because some people like my animations enough that they ended up working sound into them by themselves.
So in the end, both goals were met, even though neither goal was met. x3 So I was wondering- would anyone be terribly upset if I removed 'em, maybe changed them to something else? I'm open to ideas. Maybe I could make a model as voted by the community and make it publicly available, or finally try my hand at a community decided fully rendered digital picture instead of just flat colours like I've been doing up to now... I dunno. Thoughts? I don't wanna bait 'n switch, but... well I can't because the bait has already been delivered and eaten, hah.
What would you like to see as a goal, if anything? Or should I just nix 'em and not worry about it?

I'm all for a publicly available model (IMO a female bird preferred). Along with it a simple sample scene (eg, walk a few steps and sit on a cube). In software development the best way to learn is by seeing how an existing thing works and modifying it, so I'm assuming animation could be similar.
2021-01-23 05:39:56 +0000 UTCAw, thanks! I don't mind the idea of doing another longer animation in the future, there's a lot you can do with it that you can't with a shorter loop. But for now at least, I need a break to just do some easy fun short stuff, haha.

2021-01-23 00:54:32 +0000 UTCI was surprised by how many people got excited by the game thing. Definitely something I want to explore more this year, one way or another!

2021-01-23 00:53:22 +0000 UTCMaking models for game engines like that requires some techniques that I'm not really familiar with at the moment, so I can't jump into it right away, but it's something I might look into in the future!

2021-01-23 00:52:56 +0000 UTCTakes on a whole different meaning when you think about it that way. :P Whatever happens, you can definitely be assured I'll keep on deliverin' that messy, hah.

2021-01-23 00:52:10 +0000 UTCThere's been a couple of requests for streaming. It makes me a little uncomfortable, but I could see how it could also be fun. I'll give it some thought! The new goal idea definitely seems to have some interest! Also very worth thinking about.

2021-01-23 00:51:07 +0000 UTCYeah, I'll probably get on tweaking/removing them temporarily in the next few days, until I come up with something interesting. We'll figure it out! :3

2021-01-22 11:51:54 +0000 UTCYou should changes goals, like you said, they're done, specially if you aren't into some of them ! Change them for some fun ones, for you ! You can always organize a poll on a list of them if you can't decide/don't want to decide :)

2021-01-22 11:33:33 +0000 UTCCouldn't care less about whether it has sound or not, the quality of your animations and models are amazing. Would like to see more long animations though, to many animators just do short loops, its nice to see someone with skill doing longer ones.

2021-01-21 04:05:08 +0000 UTCAhaha guilty as charged! I will parrot what's been said and say you can dump the old goals for new ones, after all, in a way they've been fulfilled... sort of! I'm honestly just around to give you some money, so I'll be around regardless of what you choose to do as long as I can maintain it.

2021-01-20 20:24:53 +0000 UTCI like the streaming idea mentioned by Bloudin and sonicmega's re-imagining/3d-ifying/animating of old fan favorites!

2021-01-20 17:03:12 +0000 UTCI bet there will still be some good ideas for a new goal and in the last place you can take your game so you can take your time with it but still have it as your goal in mind.

2021-01-20 16:04:40 +0000 UTCI know its a completely different type of platform but your digital work is amazing as well as your traditional. Would love to see some VR related Avatars to use in Vrc or Neos.

2021-01-20 14:33:53 +0000 UTCNever say "Switch" to a spanking enthusiast like it's a bad thing XD If it entertains you to have goals, yeah, fan picked loops would be great, as well as turning good stills into motion scenes, otherwise keep delivering the messy and I'll keep delivering my little contribution!

2021-01-20 14:28:01 +0000 UTCNo sense forcing yourself to do stuff you're not inclined to do. I'll support you regardless!

2021-01-20 07:26:22 +0000 UTCAs for the old goals, I say you're good to go to remove them! As for new goals, I definitely second the idea of doing previous, fan-favorite works into animations/loops. Obviously the difficulty scale for these are a little hard to pin down, but it's a good idea! Other than that... Hard to say, ha. Have you ever thought about streaming your work, even silently/with music? There's no need to talk or have a mic on, a lot of art streamers work that way. I ask because a great engagement activity for your community and a great reward goal would be to have one or two Patron streams a month where you spend some time just working on whatever you're working on; Art, modeling, animation, whatever, but doing it 'with' your community. The bump with this is if you're working on a commission--Where's the line? What if they don't want it seen by others? I don't know the answer to this, but it may be something to consider!

2021-01-20 07:19:19 +0000 UTCThat's a neat idea!

2021-01-20 07:08:23 +0000 UTCA new goal incentive that might be neat is to take an existing artwork piece you previously did and "re-imagine" it as an animated clip. I'm sure there are plenty of folks who would be super hyped to see the still images become moving scenes.
