BJ animation - WIP 2
Added 2019-05-09 05:04:04 +0000 UTCWe're nearing the point where we're finished with animating the characters! A few odds and ends to finish up- wuffboy's hands and tail, some tweaks to wonky bits in a few places, but we're zeroing in. After that I get to figure out how I'm going to animate the fluids, that should be fun.... but progress is coming along alright I think.
Lemme know what you think! :D

I'm pretty late to respond to this, but thanks man! The leg clipping through her arm was indeed due to just not having fixed it yet, but I decided to take you up on your advice and her move her hands around a bit during that moment anyway. :P It was a good idea!

2019-05-14 01:24:22 +0000 UTCI honestly couldn't say anymore than Bloudin has above. They really nailed what I was thinking. The movement is great, the reactions are fantastic. These characters feel like they are actually alive and in the moment. Instead of being stiff and 'on rails'. All the little touches, like how Runo starts shaking after having gotten off. I also enjoyed the little touch where you made sure that, in gif form, this animation would loop perfectly. The only critique I can think of is when Runo's leg comes out so that he can brace himself and the arm/leg clip together, but I think I'd file that under "A few odds and ends". However, if not, it's JUST after the 42 second mark. Perhaps you could have the lizard girl's hand fall down to the crook of the knee to support Runo just before his post orgasm shakes take him over, since her hand goes up eventually to help get back 'in the scene'. I'm not sure how it'd work, but it could be something to play with? Either way, this is honestly really great work and I can see that you are excelling at this for this only being your third (from what I've seen) 3D animation. I can't wait to see how the final product comes out!

2019-05-09 16:21:07 +0000 UTCHoly crap man! I feel like you must have put almost as much time into that comment as I did into the animation itself! I know what you mean about a lot of animations looking kinda flat- it's always been a pet peeve of mine, in both 2D and 3D art, when the characters involved don't even look like they notice what they're doing. From the very start I was determined not to let that happen in my own animation work, so I'm trilled to hear it's been working so far. :P Also, for me, body language is a pretty huge part of the appeal of a sexy scene. If I didn't really sell what's going on with their body language, it just wouldn't seem very hot, and there's not much point in a personal project if I'm not into it. Besides, there seems to be a bit of a dearth of good 3D animation in the fandom, we deserve the good smut and if I have to be the one to make it, so be it. x3 (and to anyone seeing this, if there are any really good 3D animators out there definitely point me in their direction!) Well thank you so much man, for taking the time to type so much out, I really appreciate all the kind words! As for that last challenge, the camera work in this one isn't finished, and I'm actually thinking of trying to add a bit of motion to the camera this time around, to help add some life to things. We'll see... I'm a bit nervous about it as camera work is it's own art, and an art I know nothing about. But I'll play with it a bit and see if I can come up with something that looks good!

2019-05-09 16:05:31 +0000 UTCRu, I just have no words except encouragement and awe. Your animation detail (as in the actions themselves) are leaps and bounds ahead of, in my opinion, anyone else out there right now. There are some good animators but they kind of... For lack of a better word, feel straightforward. The movements are smooth and make physical sense, but they are simply that--movements. They don't really convey the emotion of what they're doing. And this is exactly what you excel at. All the little twitches and movements, so carefully placed, like Runo's little leg twitch at 0:45, the way he changes his stance and how his paws lift up and pat back down on the floor, the expressions like the snarl and little bit of panic in the lizard slave's expression when it happens. The way his hand slips off the counter at 0:33... I could go on and on. These are things you don't see in other animations because they frankly take time and effort that artists are not willing to give when a simpler animation will get just as high of a rating. You go the extra distance, learn faster than anyone I've ever seen tackle animation, and genuinely find it fun, exciting and formative. I loved Syandene's first animation, and pointed out all of these nuanced details in there, too. For a first animation it was beyond incredible, and I couldn't see how you could improve upon it, but you did. Syandene's second animation made these points even sharper and you tackled rigging like a champ, and even though there were a few little wonky areas where the restraints affected the animation movement, it was somehow an incredible improvement upon what was already a great baseline. And now here we are again, where you've taken the unique positives from your previous animations and refined them even more. In just three animations I feel like you've made progress that would normally be seen in a year's worth of practice. If you keep working at this, and I mean what I say here, you could easily become one of the best animators in the fandom within 2019. Tack on top of that your immense skills with watercolors and... I just don't have words. I guess all I can give you is a heartfelt, 'Keep up the good work', because it really is amazing watching you walk down this road and make leaps and bounds of progress in such a short period of time! As for critique, I don't think I can give any right now, since the final animation will have so much more with the full rendered models. Maybe the only thing that caught my eye was the toothy mouth-feel of the lizard girl when Runo really goes to town, since you have such amazing lip-movement for the rest of the animation. I think with textures rendered in that will feel much less noticeable and honestly it's probably realistically what would happen in such a situation, but I thought I'd point it out as a spot to look over and make sure everything is as you want it before finalizing :) I think something to try and challenge yourself with in the next animation is multiple viewports. Could help you set up 'scenes' for the animation and make things dramatically more dynamic for you to create much more intense scenarios. Especially now that you have the RAM to do it!
