Keeping Warm - Monthly Painting

Suggestions for better titles are welcome on this one. The central idea I went with is that these two winter critters noticed all that fresh fallen snow outside and decided to go play around in it, then got a little carried away as often happens, and now here they are. As they are winter critters who aren't at all bothered by the snow and cold (that's why they ran outside to play around in it in the first place), they don't really need to 'keep warm', but I can't think of anything else right now. If ya got something better lay it on me. Not committing to anything here but if I see one I like I might just use it for the FA title.

That aside, I hope ya like it! Winter scenes are fun ones to work on, but it can be tricky to keep all that white from getting boring. Lotta hints of random colours sprayed around to try to make it look more visually interesting. I hope it worked. :P

Maybe call it “playing in the snow”

Hey, thanks! I tried a slightly new method of doing the background trees in this one and it seemed to work fairly well. They're simplified but in a pleasant way, if I do say so myself. One to remember for the future! Naw, I saw your comment. It was a good idea too, though I had to tone it way back. I first started with more obvious breath and it nearly blocked out the poor cats face. x3 It's not as visible as I'd like but just a hint still looks good. Anywho, glad ya like it- thanks man!

Wow, 1) You finished this super fast, jeez! And 2) Your background detail in this is just stunning! The scraggly trees all the way down to that beautifully done snow-draped evergreen on the right, just... Wow! I mentioned it in my lineart comment, but given how quick this was posted up, you were probably already coloring it when I said it, but you did still think of and include some soft breath wisps in there and I think it adds so much to the piece. Smut aside, I think this is one of your most beautifully rendered paintings to date. Awesome work!
