Hi Bisscute π from San Antonio Texas USA π Thank You for reviewing this movie. For me, Ice T's acting is phenomenal (he has been on Law & Order Special Victims Unit for years) and adds such flavor to the plot. This is a psychological thriller of the highest order and not for everyone... however, since I am 67 years old we grew up on this sort of plot line so the twists and turns of this movie do not surprise me nor did the ending. Redemption is always reserved for the innocent so the movie fulfills the desired result. I find it very interesting when millennials and Gen Z reactors try to understand and analyze entertainment that was produced either before they were born or when they were very young. This is not to say that there cannot be some understanding... what I'm saying is that since there is no life experience during the time in which the entertainment is produced understanding is there for lacking and as you said in your final analysis "this movie just really wasn't for me". As with you, I give an honest opinion and leave it at that. For me, I will give this a solid four stars for intellectualness, plot, acting, and suspense. You mentioned about the ongoing use of music not quite matching what is being portrayed on the screen. I believe the director's intent in the use of music was used to demonstrate in the midst of a diabolically tragic and sinister situation by The Syndicate a twisted air of Good feeling. There are many instances of this use in Halls where there is a tragedy and they will instruct the band to play a Happy tune as to calm the situation as a deflection tool. You got the idea correct that no one gets out alive who crosses The Syndicate. Thank you for all your hard work and I appreciate you so very much.
