The planes stayed together by fantastic Boeing engineering and absolute dumb luck

Okay, Ms. Biss, having watched BoB and Pacific, you HAVE to be an American serviceman in the series you’ve seen….. You HAVE to, where would you serve, if you had a choice? B-17, Paratrooper, Marine, tanker, fighter pilot, submarine? Where would you be?

Lamar Smith

You should watch Greyhound with Tom Hanks, will give you an idea of what the convoys went through during ww2.

You show more respect for American soldiers than people who live in America. Keep up the great work.

Amazing! Glad you liked this one as well! Been waiting a long time for this one to be realized and i agree with you, i believe this will be a CGI festival, but will just go with it. I believe it will be a great journey to follow these guys just like in Band of brothers to get more of an attatchment to the people once again.

Chutes = Parachutes. He was asking if they saw anyone bail out. The ballgunner (The one on the belly) had to either be brave or bonkers to hang under the plane like that. There is an old twilight zone like show called Amazing Stories that had an episode about a ballgunner stuck in the ball turret, the plane's gear wouldn't lower and it was going to have to belly land. While it had a happy ending, it scared the shit out of me as a kid.

This was beautiful. I grew up thinking these guys were heroes and I hope this series does them justice. This episode did. Over the course of the bombing campaign, the 8th Air Force lost over 5,000 B-17s; over 50,000 men fell from the skies. It makes me proud to see the stories of the boys that helped to take back Europe.

I watched the first two episodes yesterday and liked them a lot. About Gale 'Buck', I remember seen him in The Carrie Diaries and after that, in The Shannara Chronicles. There is a movie from 2012 called Red Tails about a group of black pilots in WW2. Maybe Masters of the Air will cover their story (well see), but if not, it's a good movie to see after this series, not for a reaction, just for your enjoyment (I won't say more to avoid posible spoilers). Probably for now this is too many war movies/series, but if you haven't watched it, in HBOmax there is another good series called S.A.S. Rogue Heroes about the British Forces in North Africa during WW2. Only 6 episodes.

I haven't laughed so hard in a long time until you got caught off guard with that surprise puke. I mean no warning. Just got your eyeballs and you had to see it. LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

I was stationed at a RAF base near where this happened…I have been waiting a while for this to happen. There were so many of those air bases around the area I was. I was there in the late 80’s and used to love hearing some of the stories from my neighbors and veterans there… I lived in a house that had been converted into 4 flats that had a crack in the wall caused by one of the bombs dropped on them during the battle of Britain. I hope you enjoy this, I just watch the first two episodes, and I love it so far!
