2023-10-11 08:59:58 +0000 UTCNice catch recognizing Steve Buscemi from Armageddon. Bonus round, the mustache cowboy narrator character was also in We were Soldiers (with no mustache) as the battle hardened Sargent Major (the one Biss called Eastern European when he said if you call me grandpa I'll kill you.) Actors name is Sam Elliott. When Dude's car is stolen he's concerned about his 'Credence' tapes which is a reference to Credence Clearwater Revival (CCR) that Biss reacted to, both Fortunate Son and Have You ever Seen the Rain Another Cohen Brothers movie that's among their best is True Grit (2010) Jeff Bridges (aka the Dude), Matt Damon, & Josh Brolin

2023-10-11 05:18:45 +0000 UTCFull disclosure, I fast forwarded to the end to get your take, because I was curious, because some people 5* this movie hardcore. I don't dislike it per se, but I'm one of the people who doesn't "feel" it like some people do. It's a 3 or 3.5 for me, despite being a movie I really, really want to love, because I love the entire cast. I feels to me like you liked it a little more than I do, but your thoughts on it have made me feel less strange, so there is that, if that means anything. :) But I do agree with most people that TBL was one you had to watch, it's just too well loved by so many not to. Another movie that probably belongs in the "must watch" category, also from the Coen Brothers, one I suspect you'll like more, is "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?" - one which personally, I find to be more interesting overall. Just a better conceived movie start to finish. Riotously funny at times, subtly funny at others. A little strange at times as well sort of like TBL. But unlike TBL it has grown on me over time, where as my favorite TBL watch was the first time. There are some American cultural understanding dependent scenes in OBWAT that I will be interested in seeing how well you pick up. I'll watch that one again for sure, whenever you get to it. Also, hope you give Law Abiding Citizen more poll opportunities. It will win one. And please, take care of yourself Biss. It's a scary world right now, with so many scary things going on, all over the place. Thanks for being one of the bright lights of goodness in it. <3

2023-10-10 01:02:29 +0000 UTCIt was a Coen brothers movie. They directed “No Country for Old Men” “Fargo” “Raising Arizona”. Another comedy you should check out is “Dazed and Confused.”
