Breast Quest - Chapter 10

The finale.

The journey was ove

Comments

Always appreciate these comments a lot! Still hasn't really sunk in yet that this is over, what a journey it's been. This protag duo is definitely my personal favorite and is probably going to be an influential standard for me going forward. Mena's a pleasure for sure. Something I don't know if I've said before but, even going back to when I was originally translating her stuff for GBH, my thought for Mena was to basically write her like a female Jack Sparrow. She's meant to be that sort of pluckish rogue, she's trouble but the kind of trouble you can't help but gravitate towards, and you deal with the chaos they bring since usually they're capable of pulling through in the end anyway. Charismatic, suave, and very confident even if it bites her at times. This is why she says 'Savvy?' on occasion and why I wanted her to have kind of an exotic accent. The intent is for her to be Australian but she's admittedly a bit of an unholy oceanic/UK amalgamation 'cause I don't super know what I'm doing there. But I mean there is a lot of shared lingo there and it's a fantasy world anyway so it's not like she actually comes from any country as we know it in the first place... She has a unique quality that I've spoken of previously in that she's capable but far from bulletproof. It's a bit unusual to present a Boko girl as vulnerable but I do think it makes sense to portray her this way where in comparison to the others in GBH, her power level honestly pretty low. So when put against them, she relies on deceit, smarts and just sheer unpredictability, which makes her a fun D&D kind of protagonist. I also think it works for her to have this sorta street urchin background where she comes from nothing, helping make her easier to sympathize with. She's very modestly dressed compared to other Boko characters too and you meet her in the ruins of her bandit hideout where it doesn't seem like she has much to her name, so it tracks. That let me play into a little bit of a classism issue too. It wasn't dwelled on a ton, but there is definitely that undertone to her and Auphemia. Kinda comes naturally with the two of them I think. It's this hyper rich ruler of her own whole region against a literal homeless street rat. Through Mena I've actually managed to show the GBH powerscale as I see it in this last chapter. Lusy and Camil she can handle 2 on 1 through being more well-rounded physically and on a different level mentally. Sejna I saw as a close match for her, too smart to be tricked easily and maybe a bit more skilled physically - so that was a tough back and forth that coulda gone either way but ultimately got by through playing dirty in a way Sejna wasn't willing to. And then of course there's Auphemia, who to me is one of the top tiers in this world on a similar level to Eiruferu, where really the only option is to just run. These two were never just gonna beat her, they needed to work together and have effectively an agent on the inside helping them out just to get away. In terms of the letters, I felt like after an epic like this it was good to unwind with a bit of an epilogue at the end, and check in with some of their friends. Mostly it was for Millis and Loretta's sake, but I also wanted to get that cheeky message from Philine in and the belly dancers were a late idea that I liked for calling back to more of the wider saga. It just seemed nice to be able to clarify that Millis is perfectly fine after her role ended and doing well. And Loretta getting more of a goodbye was definitely necessary. Fun fact, when this series first started, Philine had not been introduced yet! If she had been I probably would've worked her in somewhere, it's funny to have a whole series around Mena that never really involves her sister. If there's ever gonna be like a bonus chapter, DLC to this base game if you will, it would probably be something to do with her. But that's a long ways off if it ever comes, not promising anything there. As it is, felt like I needed to talk about her at least a little and Mena giving Astriede her name as a prank was a fun way to cap off that running gag of her false names. So of course, she had something to say when she learned about it... Just tons and tons I could say about Breast Quest. It evolved along with me in a lot of ways. In the early chapters you see a lot of my older work in it, a lot more hostile to the sub, more demeaning and indulging in violence. But it became a lot softer and sweeter as it went. The development makes sense, at first Asher was just a pure perv, not meant to be hateable per say but like, even they didn't care too much about battered about so it was easy to make them a sorta slapstick protag and not feel bad about it. But as their character deepened, so did the story itself.

I can honestly say that was a truly epic femdom story. I was sincerely thrilled from start to finish, unsure where things go next. Mena and Ash both felt like such underdogs in over their heads through the whole chapter, but you had them play to their strengths really well, allowing them to level the playing field in ways that felt genuinely believable. The erotica skills are a given, but I feel like you’ve really got a knack for character writing and action/choreography too. Reading this felt like I was getting a story with the "whole package," much like Mena and her glorious figure. Speaking of, Mena is such a cool and clever badass, and your take on her has easily made her one of the most likeable Boko characters. She really shines in this finale. Ditto for Asher too. The ways Ash got one over on Alcia and especially Auphemia were hilarious and perfectly in character. On that note, there are definitely a few funny moments/transitions I really liked, but I think my fave would have to be build up and payoff of the “I'm staying a titman forever" moment. That got a really good chuckle out of me. All in all, amazing work. You’ve kept one-upping yourself with this odyssey, and it all really culminated here. I’m sure it’ll likely be a while before we see these characters and this world again, but I’d love to see them again someday, maybe in any of the possible spinoffs that seemed to be hinted at towards the end there with the letters. Thanks for all the effort you put into this!
