2025-03-05 21:27:43 +0000 UTCThat's what I love about Re:Zero. It immerses you into the world that you forget with how disconnected this is from the main series that this is an isekai. It makes sense to explore the lives of the characters - showing that this world is much bigger with deeper mysteries and richer stories than just the sphere surrounding the isekai protagonist Subaru. The world doesn't revolve around Subaru just because he's the protagonist. To show that massive important things have happened before he came here that also recontextualizes the relationships he has with these people, does wonders on worldbuilding. This OVA actually gave me a better appreciation for the Subaru and Emilia relationship. And for her relationship with Puck. Especially seeing bread crumbs of Emilia's past that we have yet to see.
