I'm back from Japan, and going in full swing, I've discussed in the past doing live Reactions on TWITCH so we can watch it together, and many of you have shown interest in this... So I think it's time!
My question to you guys is:
1. I can start Naruto, BUT with Naruto there are somethings to be said.
Naruto was one of my childhood shows that I watched while it aired on TV, I know the Major Plotpoints, but there are a lot of empty gaps in between and or things I havent seen, but might possibly be aware of, but I've never sat down and watched it beginning to end, yet alone really watched Naruto as an "adult."
ORRRRRRRRRRRRRRR;
2. I can start Bleach, which is a show I have no knowledge on, and it's been highly requested.
3. I can also start Gintama, I know it's a HIGHLY requested one, and when I was in Japan I saw it everywhere lol.
ORRRRRRRRRRRRRRR....
You guys can give me more recommendations for long running series down in the comments below, and I'll see the ones that are highly requested and choose from there.
Things to be Noted
These reactions will be Live on Twitch and EXCLUSIVE to Patreon, and you guys will obviously get it Uncut after the stream.
I don't know what day it would be streamed (Yet) so I'd love to hear from you guys which day you would prefer and perhaps around what time, so I can plan a schedule for it.

I don't think it's controversial to point out that Naruto is immensely popular and considered one of the "Big 3" so probably isn't a surprise that myself and many others rank it on their Mount Rushmore. I personally find the writing incredible, but again just my opinion. I also actively seek out Patreon reactors for reactions specific to Naruto and there are many others that do so - it'd be a great option for channel growth (again, probably not a controversial take).

2025-01-25 20:26:12 +0000 UTCFor me, Naruto is not Next Level, Naruto also belongs to my childhood, when I watched it for the first time as an adult, I liked it, but when I watched it for the second time, I noticed several script holes, plot conveniences, and narrative inconsistencies, apart from the I find the writing very cringe, I really wouldn't watch it again, unfortunately Naruto doesn't even make it into my top 20 of my fav animes.

2025-01-25 20:23:24 +0000 UTC@Oliver - I'd argue that your rebuttal is weaker. Of course she doesn't have to be familiar with everything Gintama parodies; I never suggested that. Notice how I didn't suggest Detective Conan, another long running show that gets references maybe 3 times. I'm referring specifically to the (longer) shows that get referenced most, and even then, I merely suggested checking them out. I didn't say she can't enjoy Gintama without doing so. On a related note, she recently watched all the Gintama OPs and picked up on a few things, so I think that should justify taking a longer pause before watching. She wants to watch something, so why not a show that will allow her to appreciate Gintama more when the time comes?

2025-01-25 19:52:10 +0000 UTCYou'll be able to appreciate Gintama more when you've experienced a wider variety of the shows and games it references, so while Gintama is definitely the superior choice, I think you'd be better off watching something else first. Bleach (2), for example. Other long shows to consider before watching Gintama would be Gundam, Dragon Ball, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and Hunter x Hunter.

It's very varied in the content it provides, doesn't have any filler issues, probably the most consistent 200+ ep shounen series in overall quality etc. I don't think it can be beaten when it comes to getting positive emotions from a shounen - it's probably not the most popular option but still the fans are craving for any new notable good source of reactions since those are a lot rarer than for "big 3"
