2025-01-21 13:16:50 +0000 UTCKinda late now that you are closing in on 4th season already but definitely should have pulled up a map of all the walls and cities to better understand which holes are which and what they are talking about since all the walls and cities are basically copies of one another and the only thing separating them are the names. The hole Jass was talking about with the titan face is like all the way back at the center of the walls and the hole they are thinking of fixing with Eren is all the way at the most faraway city on the furthest wall from the center

Remeber there are 3 walls and all 3 walls have like pocket cities in each direction, designed this way to draw the titan's attention to these points because the wall is to big to maintain. Eren and co lived in one of these pockets cities called Shinganshina, Shiganshina's wall got destroyed by the Colossal Titan, and then the Armored titan broke the gate Connecting Shiganshina to Wall Maria, thats how the titans entered wall maria and conquered it. The fight that happens in S1 is in another pocket city, this time of Wall Rose called Trost. The colossal titan broke the gate to Trost, and thats the one Eren sealed with a rock, but the one on Shiganshina remains open to this day and titans continue to enter to Wall Maria via there. This is why Armin says if Eren seals the wall it will be posible to retake wall Maria, because no new titans will enter it, they will only need to kill the ones that are already inside. And the hole they are suspecting to exist (which now we know it doesn't) was a hole in Wall Rose, as they never received word of any of the pockets cities been breached, they asumed it was somewhere along the miles of walls where not a lot of people live.
