I've been doodling a lot of these kinda chibi Karas lately. I realized that the best way to translate her mouth to a really simple style is to give her a kind of Konata mouth. It's not a one to one translation of her lip incompetence but it does communicate the idea of, 'this character has a cute mouth'.
Just for fun, let's do a little Q&A! As me a question about any of her comfort objects and I'll answer!

She thinks her Japanese is much worse than it is. Her mom is a polyglot though. She's a professor of applied linguistics at a university. She speaks fluent English, Japanese, and Venusian. She speaks some Swedish because of her husband but Lars mostly speaks to her in English.
