To be honest with you all (I feel that we have that kind of relationship now) I don't really draw the skull! Sometimes I have to teach it at the College but it's not something I've spent a lot of time with.
However, true to form, when I take the time to sit down with these things in an effort to make the best tutorial videos I can for you guys, I get super into and learn so much!

What helped me A LOT when drawing the skull, was the knowledge I had of drawing the head (face and all) with the Loomis Method. I can't remember if I've done a tutorial on that already... but if not that will definitely be a follow up video to this!
In this video I give you a step-by-step on how to:
Observe the skull
Understand the major forms
Understand the jaw movement
Break down the organic shapes into 4 manageable sections.
After watching the video, head over to my Pinterest Board full of reference of the skull and draw every photo! Literally - draw every single one! This will allow you to experiment with the approach I've demonstrated but also for you to adapt it into a method that works with how you see the skull.

I put on some Last Week Tonight and just drew and drew all these reference until I fully grasped what I was working with.
Ain't nothing to it but to do it!
Good luck!
