Hi Tamlyn, Thank you for your question. I use Hog hair fan brushes as well as nylon, both have their uses. I love using Hog hair brushes to make random, thick, "messy" paintbrush strokes. They are wonderful for this. Nylon brushes are best for laying in the basic large shapes, as well as painting things like grasses or fur in the preliminary stages of the painting.

2025-04-30 06:58:47 +0000 UTCHi John, What type of fan brush do you use, is it boar bristle or synthetic. A lot of synthetics are kind of floppy and don't seem to provide the texture or hold much paint.
