What are your guys opinions on legacy sequels like this? I personally think it's a creative way to keep the franchise going without just doing reboots all the time.

2025-12-07 19:37:25 +0000 UTCI hadn't actually seen this until now, been putting it off since it was released, at first I was kinda hyped that they were doing more then at some point that died in me a bit. It's a little bit flawed, and it's very "modern" sometimes in not the best ways, but in others it is - but it's also perfectly serviceable. One mistake I think they made with this, in some ways it was cartoonish and in other ways they were going for realism and grittiness and I don't think you can mix them - at the risk of argumentum ad Stranger Things, you don't have to mix them. Have it be serious and realistic or don't, not try to do both. I don't actually think people like the cartoonish side of the franchise but they definitely tried to take cues from it in this - and by the way I think that's where the 2016 not Ghostbusters movie fell apart - definitely worth avoiding.
