I have heard divisive opinions on whether he is a villain type figure in that he holds her back from a dream and a very demanding job, but others feel that his attitude is warranted. I personally feel like his feelings are valid but not handled or communicated well and that he does tend to treat her career as less than because of the industry it is part of. I always pitch the question of if a partner would act the same or be viewed the same if Andy worked at a hospital or as a first responder? Of course her job isn’t in that type of stress, but it has stress of its own and requires extremely long hours. Therefore I think his treatment of the situation is a bit clouded by disdain for the industry itself and the fact that she is a part of it. What are your thoughts?

I wanted to know because sometimes you guys watch movies when sequels are finally about to come out or in pre production, which I feel is sometimes is a crazy coincidence, I’m guessing you guys are doing this one because the trailer for the second one just dropped but just wanted to ask a BTS question. 2025-11-13 02:10:22 +0000 UTCRE DEXTER: Now that you guys are a ways into the show, it’s time for my hot take. Bear with me… Harry Morgan is the villain of the story. I’ll preface this by saying I am a college psych major and an autistic adult myself. Dexter was a (likely autistic) child who witnessed his mother’s death. She wouldn’t have died if it weren’t for harry (we learned, she died because she was a CI). ALSO, he was having an affair with her and then knowingly separated Dexter from Brian (more trauma). Instead of taking him to therapy and giving him support Harry told Dexter he would never be normal, never have a regular life, never feel anything and never find love. Told him he was a monster and that’s all he could be. Harry built Dexter into his own personal vigilante and convinced him he was a psychopath (clinically, he doesn’t fit the criteria-ASD however…). Dexter would not be a serial killer if it weren’t for harry, and arguably, neither would Brian. We see harry guiding Dexter as his “conscience” but that’s because Dexter never knew better. I’m the #1 Harry Morgan hater #1 Lumen Pierce lover. Shoot me your thoughts

My question is: if you were given an opportunity to work for someone like Miranda for just a year to gain experience, would you do it? Do you agree with Andy’s friends that she let the job change her, or do you think the change helped her grow as a person?

Personally, this is my favorite season and their relationship is so so close to my heart. We do still have a “big bad” as per usual, how are you feeling about the case and the tension on the police force side of things compared to the previous seasons? I know it’s hard to compete with the trinity killer for most viewers. How do you see the season ending? I think some of the best writing happens in this season, 2 of my all time favorite lines happen in the next two episodes ,I’ll be sure to point them out when they come around.

2025-11-12 19:44:30 +0000 UTCRe: Dexter; episode 10 is so special to me. Lumen is healing and Dexter is maybe the most gentle we have seen him. How do you like lumen and dexters relationship so far? I think she’s by far one of the best characters in the show and their relationship is so satisfying, his helping her enact revenge is something I’m sure many people (like myself) who’ve been though vicious trauma have wished for in one way or another. I think that is why I find this season strangely comforting. Funny crossover of sorts, Julia stiles was featured in a scene of Michael c Hall’s show “6 feet under” where him and his sister talked about how hot she was while watching a movie of hers in a cinema. Cut to Dexter season 5, and here she is! One of the most dynamic relationships in the show imo.

If the movie were made today, would people be more understanding of his perspective, or would the “Nate hate” still be just as strong?
