Gabe in the show was entertaining to watch, but the movie was actually more book accurate regarding his character.

2025-11-16 16:10:44 +0000 UTCThe only thing I dislike about the series is that they wrote Annabeth in a way that she’s constantly insisting on taking the lead. Like it’s HER quest, not Percy’s. It wasn’t as bad in the books as it is here. But otherwise the show is amazing.

It’s one of my favourite series and if I’m in a reading slump, I can start at The Lightning Thief, and by the time I’ve read through the OG five, I can pick up any book and get reading again.

2025-11-11 21:19:26 +0000 UTCloved watching this reaction! I agree that this series is much more believable. Fun fact each of the episodes is actually named after a chapter from the first book. One major thing is that yes in the books they are actually kids, literally 12 years old. In the movie the main thing that made it so different from the book was because the actors and characters were so much older, basically high school/college age. And for the questions about the beads that they are wearing, each bead counts for each summer a demigod has survived at camp because as Sally mentioned being a demigod in the real world is life threatening. One thing they don't expand on is the whole dyslexia thing where demigods are hardwired to read Greek and thats the whole point of it, which was in the movie but not explicitly mentioned in this.
