The Parent Trap (1998) - Movie WATCH ALONG!!

Forgot just how lovely this movie is!! Shouts out to Nancy Meyers who I definitely accidentally referred to as Nora Ephron at some point 😅😖

The Parent Trap (1998) - Movie WATCH ALONG!!

You are NOT alone. I was also 8-9 years old, and I also thought she had a twin. So, imagine my surprise when I found out she didn't LOL

I was about 9 when this came out so I honestly thought Lindsay had an identical twin because it was so real looking and to this day going on 36yrs old I'm still not convinced she doesn't have an identical twin wandering the world somewhere lmfao 😅🤣🤣🤣 P.S this was the movie that made me want to go to summer camp..... Spoiler it wasn't as great as I thought it would be (its a long story) I never wanted to go back 😫 lol

I love that book. I borrowed it from my library and read it six times that week. Then I got my mum to re-borrow it for me and read it again.

John and Aaron should watch the 1961 version and let us know what they think of them both.

The actress who played Meredith's Mother, played the Dad's love interest in the 1961 version, but Maureen O'Hara was stunning in the movie. In this movie Lindsay sings a song to herself right before she meets Meredith for the first time at the elevator "Let's get together yeah, yeah, yeah..." There is a musical number with that song in the 1961 version. It makes me sad when I see Natasha Richardson.

Great movie and great reaction. 😊 And thank you for mentioning that this, and every other movie with that story, is based on the german children's book "Das doppelte Lottchen" by Erich Kästner.😁👍🏻

i love anything haley mills is in, that darn cat especially. but this one holds a special spot in my heart. i was like eight or nine when i saw it. i had a favorite plushie that looked like "cuppy" and natasha richardson with her hair in a roller and a cigarette in her hand saying "i can't handle this!!" lives in my head rent free lol

I do love this version and I guess Natasha Richardsons kids watch this one to remember her which is bittersweet

This one is good but I still prefer the original. Probably cause it brings back great memories of being a kid in the 80's. When we got our first VCR in the early 80's the original was one of the first movies we got. Of course back then it was all about hooking up two VCR's and recording movies so you have your own copy.. :) But our copy got wore out. And for as old as the original is, the split screen shots were done very well, i think it'll blow your mind how good it looks considering the way things were filmed back then. Although this one was cute, the cast was great. I'm not knocking this one at all.

When I was younger, I watched the 1961 version at least 50 times. Never actually watched this one until now, so thanks! Still prefer the Hayley Mills version, but this was very cute.

The impulse decision making/quick dopamine hits has always been my biggest symptom. It's real and it's hard, good luck a-aron

Dustin Duvall

This version is super cute, but hot take: I prefer the 1961 version. Brian Keith, Hayley Mills and OMG Maureen O’Hara was 🔥 Also Una Merkel was hilarious as Verbena.
