GLADIATOR (2000) | Theatrical Cut - Movie WATCH ALONG!!

Just a kind of interesting observation, I'm very attuned to movie soundtracks (I guess I'm like Andrew in that way... which is also interesting since I am Andre). You guys mentioned the "Pirates of the Caribbean" theme appearing in the score of this movie. I notice repeating themes in a lot of movies, especially ones scored by the same composers, who tend to reuse their themes. The strangest parallel, though, is a particular theme in The Lone Ranger (which was a way better movie than it had any right to be, and you guys should 100% react to), scored by Hans Zimmer. The same theme appears in the JJ Abrams Star Trek movies multiple times, even though they were composed by Michael Giacchino. It's a VERY specific melody, with ascending triplets x3 followed by a set of descending triplets. Once you hear it you can't unhear it. I don't think Giacchino copied Zimmer or anything, but it's just cool to hear repeating themes/melodies in movie scores.

came over here after watching gladiator 2. after watching that it somehow makes this film even greater and deeper than it already is.

Funny that you mentioned Commodus reminded you of Joffrey, Jack Gleason said that Joaquin Phoenix as Commodus heavily influenced his portrayal as Joffrey. Also, the man with the scars on his face name is Tommy Flanagan and he got his “Glasgow smile” after a knife attack in Glasgow outside of a club he worked at. Great reaction, I’ve only watched this movie once before and watching it again gave me more appreciation for the movie.

If Aaron has not seen Ben-Hur (1959), be a great film to react to, especially for the Chariot racing scene. One of the most thrilling action sequences of all-time.

That's understandable. It's nice you get a lot of releases on Netflix compared to the US where they are spread across all the services. The American pie movies can be had for pretty cheap. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/365218626051

There's this part of me that hopes you did it for the Canadian audiences because (I don't speak for anyone else) I couldn't personally watch the Rogue cut or any of the other extended cuts (like any of the American Pie movies) because I couldn't find them online (and I'm not in a financial situation where I could just order the dvds) so I just want to say I really appreciate the theatrical on this ❤️ P.S the only thing extended I own on digital and DVD is The LOTR extended because that's the only way to watch them! I'll never go back to theatrical with LOTR I'll never go back and no one can make me!! Lol 😝🤣🤣❤️

Without looking, I’d bet it was the easier version to stream! - PLD

When I woke up today I wondered how my day was going to end and apparently it will end in tears 😭 lol I love this movie and all the actors in it did such a phenomenal job but the soundtrack is what really sends it home for me though ❤️

How come you didn't watch the extended cut of this masterpiece?
