I remember when first watching this having that same reaction of “Wtf is about to go down??” when he went to Chief Vick’s office lol. What a surreal moment, like you said, of just watching what they were willing to sacrifice. While Jules still rightfully has trust issues with Shawn, I think that little moment of him being willing to tell the chief showed so much how he truly loves her and wants to make it right. As much as he mostly doesn’t appear to have any feelings of guilt about lying all the time outside of to Juliet, there have been a few instances where he vaguely shows the vulnerability of how it affects him. Like in the exorcism episode (The Devil is in the Details…) where he brings up to the priest that he’s not really proud of the lying. So, definitely seeing a little more that as much as he wants to “explain away” his actions (bc he does actually love what he does), he seems to care deep down that it’s not real to an extent.
Fun fact: when Gus is the campaign manager and keeps saying “I can fix that”, it’s a callback to his role in the movie Holes where thats his famous line he says basically throughout the film. So that’s neat. 😊🍍
Side note- thanks a ton for the extra sprinkles of warmth and well wishes… very much needed and felt! You are a national treasure. 🫶
