Chapter 13 of 'Shrouded Destiny' is out for Squires!

Thanks for the in-depth reply! Looking forward to everything. Only two quick replies to you. Interesting that apparently Danny’s conception is tied to Aerys sexual gratification from burning people alive… gross. Also, obviously because 6 is the devils number I skipped it or I would call the cold ones to Jon… totally not just that I can’t fucking count apparently. Lol.

1) A skin of such size is basically priceless; you'll see what happens to it. 2) Elia's son didn't have a chance to be born indeed; I can confirm this. 3)Daenerys is born, yes, and is currently married to Khal Drogo; she got conceived as Aerys was burning people in the last month of the Rebellion again. 4)Ned has some plans, but he's strapped for time and torn from every side so far 5)For all intents and purposes, this is a good engagement that benefits not only House Stark but the North, I don't see anyone having good grounds to object/be unhappy at this point in time. 6)I wonder where point 6 went. 7)There will be war, but it won't nearly be the same mess, only a completely different one. 8)Yes, Winter will be a great asset to Ned, as you already saw.

I just reread through all the chapters so far. So decided to make a mega comment of everything I’m wondering/ questioning/ looking forward to finding out. 1. Jon sent the giant snow bear skin to Winterfell, will Ned make it a gift from Job to Robb for his wedding? 2. Elia was pregnant, so unless the “babe of two” was Aegon come early, then no Faegon in the south this time? Or at least a MUCH harder tale to spin for Varys. Or female Faegon? I guess Frhaenys? 3. Also is Daenerys even ever born?! Did her mom make it to Essos too as she wasn’t pregnant and will that affect Viserys’s madness? 4. Ned has made a few comments about telling Robb of Jons letter, and with him going south soon I’m guessing that won’t be for much longer. And to take Robb into his/ Howland’s plans will be hella interesting. 5. Reactions of the Robb/ Myrcella engagement. I wonder if she will end up being like a counter hostage to Ned if needed? Also other engagements for his children in the north to quell a second marriage in a row to the south for the Winterfell lord? Although the half taxes and New Gift may quell that. 7. You mentioned the war won’t be the Five kings again. I wonder if it will be more the south trying to invade the north? Without the north being the predictable scapegoats/instigators I wonder if they will instead be made into a “common enemy” while the south tries to subtly backstab each other. 8. Being a direwolf warg helps Ned sense lies apparently. That could make HUGE differences for him in the south. First timeline he was a bumbling Hand, this time he could end up being seen as one of the most effective Hands ever.

It's certainly on the table, but not in the way you probably imagine. No matter what, things won't be smooth and there will be all sorts of problems.

But you are not denying it....

Yea that makes sense; by spying I meant more like rats and birds in court/kings landing , compared to scouting armies which can still be done pretty easily by canines. Doesn’t seem like he’ll be in a place where he needs to spy with rats or cats for a while tho. Just a personal preference but I do like that he won’t be toooo overpowered even if he’s still strong.

I really pondered long on Jon's character, and I decided to make him more, but not in a broken way. All magic in ASOIAF has a price, and Jon's laughable ease at which he founds with canines did not come for free. That way, he'd still have to rely on his wits/charisma to attract and command scouts/etc to his cause.

Things like kingship are rarely so simple and straightforward.

Damn good chapter. I guess jon will have to be king beyond the wall now

Good chapter. It’s funny to see Robert see sense on matters where the simple truth is spoken. Plus, it doesn’t involve Targaryens so he’s not blinded by a last name there. Also an interesting decision to have Jon only be able to take canines/wolves with skinchanging. Personally I like the bird/rodent side of it more, but that’s just a pro/con of being strong with spying vs warfare, and Jon has fought battles his entire life so it fits even if I’d rather the chains on skinchanging not be there. Excited for the next chapter. Hope it’s another Jon one or a pov from his group
