This very detailed artwork for the main Jakkari fleet carrier comes courtesy of our friend SickJoe. I took the liberty of adding a version with text detailing many of the features and weaponry of the ship, as well as an accurate size comparison to a UNN jump carrier.
Fleet carriers are the largest vessel in the Jakkari arsenal, and as the name suggests, their primary role is as motherships for fighter squadrons and as troop carriers. Fighters are launched via the central hangar section where they are raised on elevators.
Lacking superlight technology, the Jakkari are forced to slowboat throughout their solar system, hence the inclusion of the novel NTP rocket engines.
Thematically, I wanted the Jakkari to be kind of an extrapolation of mid-20th century prototypes and futurism, with a lot of influence taken from Soviet experimental craft and abandoned technologies. The catamaran hull design, the aircraft elements, and especially the unique engine placement were inspired by prototypes and concepts for Ekranoplans.
