Betelgeusian Tank Concept Art
Added 2020-11-25 07:33:16 +0000 UTCHere's some concept art for a new Betelgeusian vehicle that will be appearing in the upcoming story The Autumn War.
These behemoths haunt the autumn jungles of Kerguela, spewing magnetically-accelerated plasma fire and swarms of chemical rockets at those unfortunate enough to cross paths with them. Their eight powerful legs make them extremely mobile in rough terrain, and they're able to bury themselves in the ground, hiding the vulnerable areas of their chitinous hulls and making themselves harder to spot. The beak-like structures on their carapace can split open, revealing a long, flexible appendage equipped with sensory organs and chemo-receptors, giving the pilot a clearer view of the battlefield.
This new threat is just one of many that the Coalition must overcome if they are to wrest back control of the lost colony from the entrenched hive forces.

Awesome concept art. It should be a pretty captivating story, and this art would be nice to be a cover!

2020-11-26 07:10:42 +0000 UTCThe Bugs use a pretty even blend of organic and technological components, so most of their vehicles come equipped with conventional weapons like missiles and plasma weapons. It should be noted that the tank is not a caste, it's a vehicle, so it is actually piloted by a Betelgeusian from an internal compartment much like the Warrior suit.

2020-11-25 11:01:53 +0000 UTCI imagine it can move quite quickly, and it can certainly outpace UNN vehicles in rough terrain like a forest environment. I don't think it could compete with a Kodiak in a sprint though. They're also going to be very susceptible to railgun fire, as their hive has only encountered plasma and laser weaponry thus far, so it would favor ambush attacks and hit and run tactics.

2020-11-25 10:56:37 +0000 UTCSome idea. Since its mostly bio weapon then use of mechanized projectiles (missiles) would be unlikely i think. Use of plasma, acid, poison, gas ( chemical or pure bio weapon) would be go to way for them or just more common
