2018-02-01 00:23:05 +0000 UTCYeah this doesn't happen often, and I can usually salvage most of an update if I make a big mistake, but sometimes you just have to burn it all down and start over. I think the last time this happened was when I was writing Outpost, and I had a huge, sprawling section about how Schaffer was fixing the heating system in the base. It was completely boring and tedious, and after reading back through it, I replaced it with a more concise passage that got the same point across in like a tenth of the time.

This will better establish what happens in this update, and will make it feel less like a plot contrivance.

I did a bunch of janky math to try and explain how Lena figures out Krell timekeeping, and after reading back through it, it's just not concise and it's not entertaining and it needs to be scrapped. Unfortunately I don't have time to start over today, sorry about that.
