So.... about wips and lineart
Added 2024-08-14 15:07:43 +0000 UTCI know the answer will be yes and the most logical answer is to just make a discord server and have channels for wips, finished art, feedback/ ideas/ etc but I figured Id still ask lol
So
How do you feel about progress shots? Do you like being surprised with finished art or do you like to see the sketches/ ideas/ inks along the way. For me I feel like its a spoiler, and I hate spoilers lol. I like to be surprised. But maybe I shouldnt inflict my own personal preferences on everyone?
So what do you say, would you like to see posts like the above even though its super early? Or maybe even just the inks? Even though I dont ink things like pupils most of the time, nipples, scars, pattern/ marking/ color shifts, etc? Should I ink them anyways just for the sake of presentation for an ink only version? What do you think? I ask because someone was interested in seeing my inks on twitter and... well... thats just not something Ive ever liked doing because of how sterile I feel my inks are lol.

If you really want to you could always blur the image and put work in progress and upload that alongside the original so that people see that first and have to click that to see the actual wip image. If you want you could also roughly flat color the image. Personally i think flat color sketches look really good, are very presentable and still hype you up for the final render.

2024-08-14 20:31:53 +0000 UTCYeah I love WIPs over here. outside of the benefit of seeing the steps of how something is made, one of the best parts of seeing a sketched WIP is the anticipation of how the finished pic will look. It's always so cool seeing a sketch you like turn into a full blown pic!

I also think posting them with the final or after isn't a bad way to do it either. or just include them in the dropbox folders for those interested to check out and those that don't care about it or don't want spoilers can avoid looking at them.

2024-08-14 17:23:24 +0000 UTCI like seeing sketches, inks, etc. The WIP shots are interesting. I wouldn't place extra effort into making them presentable though; don't interrupt the flow of work just to make them showable. If you don't like spoilers, they could be posted at the end.
