Given Ran's character i would seriously doubt that poison would work on him, he's probably developed a immunity from all his experiments over the years

Had to happen eventually. The good thing is, he genuinely seems to regret what happened and wants to improve.

I do love Viracroix as a character - his lineage and position alone put him squarely in a "lawful evil" alignment, but instead of being an arrogant noble, his intelligence taught him to be kind to his underlings, as happy subjects are eager, devoted, and most of all loyal. And while this likely started as cold calculation, he does genuinely seem to care about his people. And I'm not even counting Ran, I can't recall whether it was mentioned how long they've known each other, but it wouldn't surprise me if they have been friends since childhood.

There's no need to blame yourself Ran, not when there's plenty of subordinates you could blame instead! Like that recruit who refused her promotion to "indrel companion"!

Consequences suck, don’t they.
In which Ran learns the world is not a Petri dish, nor is it a game. Especially when you screw up and lose.

Welcome to Command Ran. You just have to make a choice and then deal with it.

Ran really does care, in his own weird way. And I love how reasonable our beloved Trademaster is to his underlings, even if they're failing at doing what he wants them to do. It's almost like he understands it's not their fault or something.

i don't know why but i find myself picturing Ran being told he's due for a promotion and then dodge-rolling straight through a plate glass window like Papyrus
