The Out-Of-Placers #79

That feeling when you're having such a not-good day that you can't even appreciate the albino nurse licking gore off your face.

Thanks as usual to Raptie for handling the character coloring and shading on this page!

Aspera

They have factories in this world?

Beard Face

They're more like monotremes in this regard! And yes, yes it did.

Val Salia

1. I thought they were mammals?!? 2. Did that egg deflate?!? Biology's drunk again

Max Anderson

I agree

Simone Spinozzi

EVERYTHING IS MADE OUT OF MEAT ESPECIALLY TREES

Val Salia

U REMEMBERRD Kass was indeed making a vulnerable needy baby noise

Val Salia

Well they are a bit more on the squishy side than the eggs most people are used to! : D

Val Salia

Great!! No more need to explain anything else ever!!! !!

Val Salia

Yes, they were indeed born out of wedlock, making every single one of them bastards

Val Salia

Put a yinglet hatchery on a space station and you're halfway there!

Val Salia

Well as we all know, babies of all species are naturally scornful creatures

Val Salia

It is common practice to have mints at a doctor's office

Val Salia

"Come on then! ...Come on then!"

Val Salia

Maaan I explain something once to a small audience and it really gets remembered! It's like you people got memorybrains or somethin

Val Salia

Are those eggs......"shells"....made out of meat?

Saviliana Negalister

Oh shit! This just got SCIENCE-FIED!

Daragoth

My headcanon hopes that is the same kind of "Mweh" I recall a certain naked discouraged Kass making to be picked up by Isher waaaaaayyyy back when.

Faraday Cage

Nope, actually. They lay 5 to 7 per clutch, and they start off tiny, and then expand as the infant develops. These eggs are essentially single-use placental wombs that they eject from the body. If you look you can even see what appears to be some kind of placental lining on the inner part of the "shell". It's quite likely that it is a placenta, which would explain yinglets having bellybuttons. They're likely connected to that lining via umbilical cord.

Why is everybody saying this is horrifying? It seems a rather cutesy version of what actual animals do when they come out of the egg. Am i missing something?

Simone Spinozzi

Well that explains a lot :D

D'awww they're actually cute little bastards.

StripeyArse

How you can say it , Kass ? You've never seen the egg chamber of "Alien" ^_^"

Panther

Eaugh! Hatching yinlets looks like something from that horror game, Scorn.

Corvin

The grand reveal! Also, Raptie is really showing off with these colorings: that teal-colored nurse looks amazing.

StarstruckEchoid

That egg park reminded me of that one scene.

Loxen86

Welcome to yinglet park

Loxen86

We don't know if he has a choice in the matter yet. Some species lay unfertilized eggs as part of the cycle (chickens, for example). I... Don't know if Yinglets have ever abstaned from sex enough to know if they do or don't. Their culture doesn't shy from casual sex and the enclave seems to have breeding schedules. It's possible that Kass will have no idea if she'll lay or not until a cycle passes. Since that would be the worst thing imaginable for him, I assume it's also the most likely.

ArcadeDragon

Egg sacs as opposed to hard shells was unexpected. Not sure why that would be gross compared to hard shells, but it feel like it is. Pretty large eggs, I assume 1 per yinglet would be the norm. At least the fluid didn't get on you this time, Kass! Now Kass has gotta be wondering if laying is inevitable for Yinglet cycles. No way is he going to let Elim see any of that, so if inevitable I assume some stay at the enclave would be in order.

ArcadeDragon

Actually... An artist HAS done that. https://www.furaffinity.net/view/25466976/

johnny_vulpine

Aww. I'm not sure why this part is nightmare-inducing. Maybe it's how the egg sags suddenly instead of cracking... but why shouldn't the little bippers put their shellteeth to use right away? I think it's a rather nifty depiction of birth.

Thorin N. Tatge

God damn that reminds me too much of xenomorph eggs........Now I want to see a yinglet xenomorph

I think kass has officially gone nuts after seeing that

Jaws18301

Yinglets have surprisingly meaty seeming eggs. I was expecting hard shell rather than leathery, although I guess at their size that'd be a large investment of minerals.

Max Last

whelp, its pretty much clad in stone. no eggs for him >.>;;

Kevin Cason

I'm starting to to think that there might be some relationship between "time Kass has spent at the Enclave" and "number of traumatic experiences he has experienced." It's just a thought though.
