No, the HDT SMP patch is for the race. The follower has its own SMP Wigs, in a different location and with separate textures. For the follower it's essential that the hair is colored red, however the race also offers blonde hair option. And it saves 2 esps slot. However you still need the core files fromt he race, like skin texture and body
