Hey Primal Pack!
Those of your from VRA know that every week I release a public 3D video from our archive. Well I'm bringing that free preview goodness over to AVR as well. It'll take bit to get it fully setup, but it'll give everyone a chance to check out a scene before taking the plunge into full VR. To start out I'll be trying multiple camera angles from one of our collab partners to see how popular that style is, but it'll likely be a one time thing. As you can see from the preview it'll take ~16hrs to render out 3 animations, when I could be rendering out about ~19 animation in that same time.
3D maintains the experience of watching through a screen, but with the additional of depth, i.e. like a 3D movie. So instead of a screen it's more like a window your looking through, where things seem a lot more tangible. You have that same depth in VR, but instead of looking through a window your on the other side of it, in the middle of the action yourself. In other words similar to the difference between 3rd person and first person in a video game.
So I'll be rolling this out first with the OG Lola and from there it'll be a random selection from the archive, future releases or animations that don't have an angle suitable for VR.
If there's something you've seen pop up in the archive a twitter post or by an artist we're worked with a lot, then feel free to shout out the recommendation and it'll get priority in the queue. I say artist we've worked with a lot because chances are I'll have the files or can get them. If it's a brand new artist, that suggestion needs to go on the new content post as those will take more time and effort to see if possible to convert.
