What makes this episode even more sad is Karube didn’t even have to join this game in the first place. He and Arisu have more days of visas after the second game, they don’t have to join but they decided to do so to help Chota. Karube wouldn’t have died if he didn’t join the game.

2024-12-12 16:27:02 +0000 UTCI don’t think it’s mentioned anywhere specifically but I’ve inferred it from the scenes. First of all, the card number represents the number of days of visa they get. So going to different games with different card number means they get different number of days after each game. I remember only the first game (live or death) is 3 days visa; the rest are different depending on the level of difficulty of the game (represented by the card numbers). There’s also the scene in episode 5 where Arisu was holding up a piece of paper counting his days left and saying that his visa will expire soon. The paper shows his accumulated days with the days already passed. Hope this clears your confusion a bit 😊
