2025-06-07 05:21:02 +0000 UTCLONG time truther of the 1975 here, ive had the privilege of seeing them 5 times so far, and you're right about TOOTIME being the second or maybe third single? lol i remember a lot of confusion at the beginning of this era and mixed reactions from people who are die hard for their original sound. i'll admit i've felt differently from the start, this was ultimately the next level in experimentation for them which i LOVED. matty's songwriting is undoubtedly more cinematic and layered through these past two albums but i believe this was recorded during a lot of political and civil unrest, i can just feel it here. i like america and america likes me is one of their best tracks imo! okay gushing concluded, im stoked to see what's next :)

We both use a valerian root (passion flower) tea, and we like to add a tincture of valerian root, and I use a stress ease cinnamon tea as well! The cinnamon and passionflower is a good tasting combo;)

(I'm slightly biased because my friend was the drummer for the band at the time and helped write a lot of the album, but it still is a good record regardless haha)

I wasn’t a big fan of I like America and America likes me at first, but it’s grown to be my favourite song, you can hear the passion in Mattys voice. I would definitely recommend searching up the “Live Video” version of this song, it’s less jarring and the vocals are even more incredible. I think you might enjoy it a bit more

I wrote an entire paper for a college english class on the symbolism in It's Not Living if it's Not With You and Sincerity is Scary and their music videos. Definitely check out the music videos for both of those songs if you haven't, they're some of my favorites!!

Was such a departure from their first two albums for me at the time, but when I look and listen back, it’s so totally them and such a crucial album in their discography! Has some of my favorites of all time on it!!! Super excited to see y’all eventually cover the other 3 albums, especially self titled! ⬛️🖤 Appreciate y’all
