Dad Reacts to Mac Miller - Circles

Dad Reacts to Mac Miller - Circles

Comments

Have they ever reacted to the deluxe songs on the album? Been looking all over for that since floating is honestly a Banger!

Carlos

the amount of times I have seen this video...gets me every time

alec tavilla

Can we get a relisten with Kevin’s full thoughts and emotions? Because I’m rewatching this at 11:00 nov 6 2024 in Philly, and I am on the verge of tears waiting for Kevin to express the emotions I’m feeling even though I’ve listened to the album 10 times thru. Mac reminds us we are loved and seen.

Benjamin Johnson

Run the Jewels

Sergio Mendez

Yeah when the announced circles it was Legit out of nowhere and good news was the first single. It was like Mac was talking to us from the other side comforting us. It’s not that bad The whole album is like a soundtrack of hope to get through the darkest of times. I feel like he wrote it knowing people would use it to get through tough times You could also really feel that Beatles influence in this album. Mac always said he wanted to be the Beatles lol

Dustin pooler

Sucks you can hear the drugs in his system coming out in his speech, sometimes slurring. I feel so bad for him, I think if he didn't get that fake pill that killed him, he would he clean today. I really believe that.

Jeremy Burton

Is there no mp3 version of this? Went back to listen to it today an can't find it

N8 mih

Divine Feminine next!!!

Nick Roth

Subbed to your channel after the Swimming video, joined the Patreon for the Circles video. Frankly every episode is dope, you guys make great content. I’m assuming Connor has this planned but I think you guys should do Mac’s discography from start to finish then do a follow up with swimming in circles. Cheers and thanks for the 🔥

Julian Berman

You mentioned if he had done an interview for this. “Jon Brion and Zane Lowe - Circles Interview” on YouTube, that’d be a great reaction!

Tony Hinchcliffe’s Puerto Rican Side-Twink

prob asked a bunch before but have you thought about including the lyrics in these videos?

George Huang

connor bless us with the brand of those pants

Kevin Purcell

I'm lucking getting to experience these last to albums with you guys. First time listening to them with you guys right now. Thanks.

I think as an overall package, I like Circles more than Swimming, although they are both so well made and they work SO well together. I'd love for y'all to react to some of Mac's earlier projects, specifically KIDS as that's my other fav Mac project. This vid was very relaxing to watch, thanks for making these!

Aaron Stichter

I love the fact that I get to reexperience Mac through kevin for the first time it’s such a genuine reaction

Joseph Morales

Happened a while ago

Daq

Such a great reaction this is a perfect album to me. You guys would really enjoy Elliott smith either or, Jon Brion also worked with Elliott and Mac has covered Angeles.

Nolan Lewis

glad hand me downs got you the way it got me first listen. the stand out to me though as you guys said all beautiful. hand me downs is special though man, actual perfect music.

Villuhz

im glad theres another dissect head

Spottius

Wheres the man on the moon 1 reaction?

Sam Medeiros

I would love to see a reaction to XXXTENTACION - 17, especially because of Donda 2 features

Cody Steel

Started watching on YouTube but had to join for a month to listen to this album with you guys uncut. I love this album more than anything.

Matt

wow. what a video.

ConorJ92

I tear up every time I hear surf. That song is incredible. This album is severely underrated.

James Cleary

Seeing how much you enjoyed blue world there is a full in the making of of that song a great look behind how they pulled the sample

schwiftiii .

what a beautiful video. thank you guys

Selma Hagen

I was exactly like Kevin, I listened to Mac first on Swimming, thought he was amazing, then looked into the story of him. I wasn't in a great place when I first listened to him so he was that warm comfort I could hold onto. I then listened to Circles and it instantly became a top 5 album for me solely off the experience of it feeling like Mac was talking to me from the other side saying he was okay. My prize possession among the vinyl I have.

daniel gray

Hey guys. Great stuff I love the channel and Mac in particular. Swimming and Circles changed my life in the best of ways. One thing to mention is Everybody is actually a cover! It was originally by Arthur Lee of the band Love and Macs cover does it so much justice. From one Canadian to another keep up the amazing work!

Colin Mills

Always a pleasure hearing your guys thought! My birthday is tomorrow too, thanks for the gift!!

Diego Medina

i would love to see yall listen to discovery by daft punk

scooter

This was SO special. So glad we had the opportunity to share in this listen with you all.

Christine C

I would love to see your guys' reactions to Joyner Lucas' album "508-507-2209". There are a couple songs on there, particularly "I'm sorry" that I'd love to see Kevin's reaction on!

Reagan Hammond

Iv been Listening to mac miller since my highschool days. I'm currently 23. Not a second Goes by that I'm not hauntingly in my head thinking about my future and if I'm doing enough to achieve the things I want to achieve. Every day I drive home from work I shuffle his music, and the songs are always perfect, They speak the emotions I feel, that I desperately cant put into words. Listening to Mac is a bitter sweet moment. Its sad to dwell on the fact he's gone but he lives though kids like me, who turn to his music because we struggle to put emotions into words. Malcom Helped me though my darkest days and he's there with me on my brightest. I hate the fact that I never got to see him live. The month he announced his swimming tour I bought a ticket, months later he passed. Hurts My heart but for this reason I cherish his music so much more. Malcom, wherever you are, I hope you've found the peace you were so desperately searching for. <3 godspeed.

Maccfly

Also don't know if you mentioned it in the video and I missed it, but this is a sister album to Swimming. Hence, "Swimming in circles"

SAM-WISE GAMGEE

This album had me in tears when it first dropped. Even now depending on my mood I have to skip some of the tracks when they come on. RIP Mac

SAM-WISE GAMGEE

WHERE IS THE MP3

Alexander Urias

You should show dad the growth of malcom

Fabian Arias

from kids to circles. the growth is extraordinary

Fabian Arias

the feeling circles gives me is so comforting. it’s just unfortunate these songs is all that’s left. rip king

Fabian Arias

It’s so amazing to see Kevin react to certain songs the same way I did! It’s also so interesting how after only knowing Mac’s music for such a short time and only experiencing 2 albums out of his discography he shares the same feeling many Mac heads feel that we share a “bond” with Mac. Thanks for letting me join in on this experience. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts about his other projects. :)

Lynn

https://youtu.be/lFTEptvdBg8 this is the break down of Blue World! A MUST watch video!

Donovan Ogilvy

Faces is going to an amazing video 😭

Steve Nardini

Also, somebody probably already said this but there’s a Zane Lowe interview with Jon Brion

Steve Nardini

Interview reactions would be really cool.. starting with Mac of course

Steve Nardini

PLEASEEEEEEE react to the two bonus tracks from this album Right and Floating. They are favorites off the album

Olivia Zoldi

anybody else heard the dog yelling?

dimitri

Joined just to listen to this. My favorite album. Beautiful and painful

Cooper

I bet Kevin would love Boo Boo by Toro y Moi

Esias G

BECAUSE THE INTERNET

Lachlan Cartwright

Pleaseeeeee more Mac!

Josh

Thank you for this! I havent been able to listen to this record since it came out.. And you guys made is so much easier for me to do it

espen hafskjold

Really teasing us with Hail to the Thief in the back! Would love to see you two close out the Radiohead catalogue

BittyBoop

Hopefully you show him the other 2 songs , “Right” and “Floating” from his deluxe album . Great reaction it reminded me of the first time listening to this album.

David

would love to see some mac demarco

Fing10

Kevin just gets it.

Dani Fenton

Also, just wanted to add that it’s insane how inspired your dad has become by listening to other artists. Instead of envy, it’s inspiration and that’s amazing.

I only appreciate real content

Broke college student and second month subscribing to patreon. Best $2.50 I have ever spent. Keep the Mac train rolling, Faces soon!!

I only appreciate real content

“We can only go backwards.” Damn….

Imran

gotta show pops the jon brion interview on apple music about this album

broken_chris4

yes been waiting for this!

broken_chris4

Absolutely incredible. Swimming in Circles is such a great 2 part album. I got goosebumps when Connor said that he feels like Mac wrote it AFTER he passed and sent it as a gift because I’ve always felt that way. I’m excited for Kevin to hear more Mac. I think you should go back to KIDS or Blue Slide Park and show him the contrast of the happy little kid he started as before you dive into all the amazing art in the middle

pj

100% agree. Right and floating are beautiful masterpieces. Also I had no idea about the story behind thunder cats album. It’s honestly a great album and I love Louis cole is prolly my favorite track off that album

John Vargas

Idk if you're planning on reviewing any Mac Demarco ever but this old dog would be amazing. Also he was really close with Mac and wrote a song about him on his 2019 album. You can hear mac miller joking around at the end of it. The songs called "Heart to Heart"

Christian Summersill

Saturation next?

Just82

these reviews make yinzers happy

Kizzy

Amazing video guys. I wish Mac was still here. He was an amazing and talented person. This album really brings out a lot of emotion for me. I would love to see some Hopsin reviews. His latest album No Shame brings out a lot of raw emotion just like Mac’s but in his own way and experience. Black Sheep for example, I’ve never felt more in touch with an artist until I heard that song. Should be a great listen if you guys haven’t heard it.

Kenny Fowler

I've heard this album before, but you've given me a greater appreciation of this particular work, and Mac's catalog generally. That is the ultimate you can ask of any review and reaction Channel. Brilliant stuff fellas. ❤️

Jon Scanlon

Just got to the end and I’m glad you already knew about it. beautiful Album and beautiful reaction as always

Diego

You should have your dad listen to the dissect podcast on Spotify they just did a whole season on the breakdown of swimming and circles

Diego

Watch Movies With The Sound Off is a must album, show Kevin some different type of Mac Daddy

Luke Kowerchuk

Y'all didn't do the bonus tracks! Both amazing and have fantastic Thundercat bass. Highly, HIGHLY recommend you guys do Thundercat's It Is What It Is, which is pretty much a tribute album to Mac Miller, and all the friends that Thundercat has lost in the past (he has lost many friends throughout the past few years). The song Fair Chance directly lifts lines from Hurt Feelings, and the title of the album itself is a reference to the line in What's the Use? "It is what it is till it ain't" Theres also this really great song called I Love Louis Cole which, my assumption has always been that he made that song to appreciate somebody who is still here since he has multiple songs that are tributes to friends who have passed. Louis is even on the song playing drums and singing, its really beautiful. He's also an amazing jazz musician in general, and all his albums are incredible, its just that It Is What It Is fits with the Mac stuff y'all have been doing.

Antonio

Feeling like your Macs best mate immediately, after listening to one album. We've all been there, that's what he does. Great reaction ❤️

Lewis

I resonated strongly with Kevin’s comment “it feels like you’re right there with him.” About 2 weeks after this released a took a quarter of mushrooms, sat in my bed with headphones on and lights out. I listened to pretty much all of Mac’s discography over 4-5 hours. But during this entire album, it was like he was sitting at the edge of my bed singing to me directly. It felt so close and so real. It was the most spiritual, joyous and heartbreaking experience of my life.

Kaleeb Smalls

Would love if you guys do The Devine Feminine album when you have the chance. Love the reaction’

Zahia

Amazing video. But I’m new to the Patreon and was wondering how to find the discord link

Jayden Harrison

You gotta show your dad Right off the deluxe.

Ron LaFlamme

love you guys great content<3 yall should listen to ''ye'' by kanye for a shorter but good video ....or something that will get alot of viewers and would for sure get alot of likes "Donda" it really suprised me. keep up the good work

Jose Hoyos

Dad needs to hear right off the deluxe

KyLe. . .

Needed this today ❤️

mwdoom

Funny you said John Lennon gives you the same feeling as Mac. Mac has an Imagine tattoo on his forearm and The Beatles are a big influence of his. Think he mentioned it in his Nardwuar interview when he was like 18

Dion Byrne

Elliott smith confirmed? That's awesome. Great reaction as always - brightens ones day.

BOOM

If you guys decide to do Faces you should do the original one where they havent cut out things. But saying that I would love your reaction to Yeah. Great bonus track.

Dion Byrne

I hope they do the original version of Faces with all the movie quotes and original samples. There were a lot of compromises made for the remastered vinyl release.

Michael Hunter

very cool to hear kevin talk about the lennon connection. Mac was inspired by the beatles; you can really hear it on macadellic

Dustin Grossman

I'm so stupidly excited for Faces after watching this

Whoops

would love to hear Devine feminine next for the mac series :) i feel like working back from his last project to his first would give kevin a solid understanding of how macs music evolved in each piece he dropped. ALSO, maybe some denzel curry? i feel the reaction to the heavier rock elements that curry brings would be golden

Pierce Rust

First noticed this channel with the Radiohead album reactions on YouTube. With Radiohead being an old favourite band of mine, Mac is up the with the GOATs and I loved how it started with Radiohead (for both of us) and now we are at the Mac Miller station in this journey. I kind of feel like there is some common ground between Radiohead and Mac Miller at the same time as the music and lyrics are very different. Perhaps it's the depth and honesty which they share along with their uniqueness?

Josef Rantamaki

Swimming is one of my favourite albums ever. I’ve been putting off listening to Circles because I know it’s the last of Mac I will hear. I saw him in Paris in 2012 and it’s still one of my favourite gigs I’ve been to. This is my first time listing to this album. I’m glad I get to listen along with you guys

Ed flitton

Love that y’all did this. Would love more mac reactions

Mikey Simone

you definitely have to show Kevin the bonus tracks, they are just as good as the other songs on the album even though they don't fit the "perfect circle narrative." thank you for blessing us with this content

Tanner Bruce

Maybe Devine feminine as the next Mac album?

Kyle Johnson

Will you show Kevin the bonus tracks as a reaction video?

Kyle Johnson

tony royster jr. did the drums for everybody . pheeeenomonal drummer known for playing for jay-z. worth watching some videos of him . there's no way to sum up what this album means to me. faces is one of the only albums by any artist that rivals it for me. edit: the bonus track yeah off of streaming version of faces is technically the last official mac song release, but it clearly was made years before circles

linsii

I remember listening to this album the night is dropped. Jan 17th, my moms birthday. I put this on around 11pm on a rainy night and floated for an hour. Never felt that way before or since. This album legit lifted me that night. Thank you for this video.

Kevin Pottorff

Elliot Smith would be a good follow up to this.

JustDustin

Love this album. Can’t wait to see you guys do Faces and Good am

Grant

Here's a breakdown of circles with jon brion https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faEKDnNXt4o&ab_channel=MacMiller - this shit made me cry my ass off

Nick Dunnington

"I've got it up...in your mum." I fucking hate your dad LMAO.

Anochi

Hands down my favorite album of all time without a doubt.

JordanoLee

I joined Patreon for this album. If you continue to do more Mac, You should start your dad back at KIDS and go all the way through the album discography till you’re back at Swimming, that way he can see the evolution and growth Mac had musically.

Michael Guerra

I haven’t really seen anyone mention The Devine Feminine, feel like that’s right up Kevin’s alley

Ziggy L

Lol whatever has to follow this up for kevin basically has a death sentence

Mark M

AYE LETS GO ANOTHER BANGER

sean ryan

You guys are on a role 🔥

Daniel portillo

Crying <3. I was lucky enough to go to the memorial concert after he passed. Never got to meet him, one day I will.

Sebastian Buckley

Disclosure has a YouTube video where he breaks-down how he produced Blue World... It's 45 minutes long and really cool to see how he made that beat.

Cameron Ackerman

*not fav song but why he put it last on the album

Jay The Cyborg

https://youtu.be/faEKDnNXt4o at 6:00 min. the way he speaks about why once a day is Jon brions favorite song made it my favorite song. the story behind it is so amazing. Check it out when you have a minute

Jay The Cyborg

ALSO if you’re trying to do something light hearted and fun after this heavy listen, I’d love to here a Wayne album (yes I have mentioned this on other videos already lmao)

Jess

You worded it perfectly, it doesn’t feel like it was written when he was still here, it feels like it was delivered to us. That’s how I always felt about this album. If you’re trying to do a Patreon exclusive, I would love to hear the bonus tracks, or the good news video (especially the clip of Mac in the studio)

Jess

same

jacob hysteria

When ever you guys react to an album it just makes me love it that much more

Cameron Ackerman

Joined the patreon just for this

Sebastian Sunderhaus

I just came here to say this, I feel like right is just as good as any song off swimming or circles

Elijah

I really wish you showed Kevin the 2 bonus songs on the deluxe because 'right' is one of my favourites!!

Aum Patel

Listened to this album probably 10+ times since it came out, but once again I find myself crying. To quote Jon Brian's interview with Apple Music: "It’s not fair to give words to the heaviness of it, but I can tell you that the week I had to listen through stuff was a torture and a delight. Torture because of the loss. And then ‘I Can See’ would come up and I’d be beyond delighted because I’m like, ‘This is good by anybody’s standards, in any genre, this human being expressing themselves well.’ It would turn back to a torture because you’re like, ‘Oh my god, you were capable of that. I didn’t even get to hear that one yet.’ I could sit there and wonder, would I have?" Connor said it well, imagine where he would have been 10+ years from now. Regardless, so happy to have his music with me everyday. Really enjoyed the reaction guys. <3

Martin Hagen

I need dad's thoughts on the deluxe bonus tracks (Right and Floating)!! So good <3

Randy

this is my favorite album of all time im so glad kevin liked it

kumquat

Although sad I appreciated watching how impacted you both were by the album. This whole thing got me really emotional so I am going to go cry now. Much love.

Gage Ignota

you guys ever consider watching the video for good news or, in the future, for best day ever? i think the videos are a beautiful compliment to the songs. maybe a patreon exclusive. cheers and much love

Nick Dewberry

Pleaseeeeeeee do more of the strokes me and my gf are waiting for more of them

Onniee

❤️ so happy we got more mac so soon. i don’t know if connor knew of this or not but there are uncredited vocals from ariana on i can see. https://variety.com/2020/music/news/mac-miller-ariana-grande-vocals-album-circles-jon-brion-1203473585/amp/ this article also talks about how their was a third album that was supposed to be made that was back to pure hip hop.

Gage

Loved the reaction. We need faces next

Nathan Sheppard

He needs to hear Right!

Daq

There’s two bonus tracks! Gotta hear Right and Floating. Right is so good!!

Daq

Mac really does something to you emotionally it’s so personal and raw and I think that’s why people resonate. I still forget he’s passed when I listen to his music because he’s still so very much alive in his work. That was a great conversation about music in general at the end and peaked my interest in particular with structures and no rules because I would absolutely LOVE for you to react to FKA Twigs MAGDALENE Album. Not only does she bring hauntingly vulnerable lyrics and vocals her production and use of sounds and timing is so addicting.

ladystardust

I was hoping for the two deluxe songs but still a great video!

Noah Hickey

Lil Wayne album reaction please

BeauBlends

Been waiting for this one. It’s gonna hurt.

Aidan D

Incredible video, love the ultimatum at the end Kevin, truly awesome. Hope Connor chooses faces next to react :)

Gavin N Willard

There's 2 more songs!! That make it a completed concept they were released 3 months after circles look up Circles deluxe!!

Timmy5000timmy

man I already know this is gonna be heavy. I was listening to the entirety of circles the other weekend to work and to this day I STILL get emotional

John Vargas

Mac Miller gives me the same feeling Elliott Smith gave me. I’ve never emotionally connected with an artist more than those 2. Circles especially sounds a lot like Elliott to me though

Turner Kennington

faces or divine feminine next from mac would be great

Alec

This is my favorite album of all time I never really listened to Mac before but I listened to this at the start of the pandemic and it really got me through a lot of tough times I still listen to it all the way through occasionally, it resonated with me in a way no other album or piece of media has before

Aidan ALCARAZ

I highly recommend you to watch the interview with jon Brion where he talks about working with mac and how he finished circles after mac passed. This album really feels like a "don't worry I'm fine" message from mac. https://youtu.be/faEKDnNXt4o

Gilles

Plz listen to lonerism by tame Impala

Ben Steger

kevin asked if there is an interview with john about the album and there is! he should def watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faEKDnNXt4o

weston

Your mums face

Shurikinney

I'm sure a lot of people already know this but in case anyone doesn' know, the song Everybody is a cover of an Arthur Lee song from 1972 called Everybody's Gotta Live. The Mac Miller version is awesome but I also recommend checking out the original!

Josh H

I never mourned the death of a celebrity.. until Mac. In the past 6 years I had some rough shit happening in my life and Mac was always an anchor. One day I was doing a long drive, alone, for work and I was listening to Swimming for the millionth time. I am 4 years older than Mac but I had this comforting thought that no matter what I was going through, or would go through, I would have the chance to grow up with him and have his support throughout the weird and uncertain life that is waiting for me. Sure enough, he passed away the next day. I cried like a fucking baby. I was so mad at him. But then eventually Circles came out and it connected with me in a way that is unexplainable. I can see that both of you felt it as well... I am happy that I could relive this through you. Cheers

Gabriel Lemay

There is a apple interview with the producer talking about working on this album. You guys have to check it out.

Dennis Carlson

I never listened to this album because it is hard to hear Mac knowing his fate. That said, I’m listening to this for the first time with you and it’s amazing.

Ryan (WaveReact)

You guys should react to J cole KOD!

Jacob Hunter

Circles and swimming are the only albums I’ve listened to pretty thoroughly and the music in those albums are so good. And in the circles album it’s so crazy how he makes this grey spot between being conscious about his death and the fear of It. It’s another take on death which is greeting it and being a peaceful thing which is a crazy thing for an album to do

Mark Alan

Let’s goooooooo

Cody Palumbo

I've got good news for you Kevin, there is a Deluxe version of the album with 2 additional songs, and they're both great! Enjoy!

The Banker

There is a 2 hour documentary on youtube titled "MAC" and it is almost 100% comprised of Mac interviews and moments throughout his entire life. John Brion speaks at the end of it about what it was like for him to produce Circles and the entire doc is a great watch

Joshua Gowie

Love the Kid Cudi sweater! Looks super clean!

Jacob Hunter

Something told me to wear my Mac shirt today and I come home this new upload, absolutely made my day. I think it'd be interesting to also have Kevin react to some older Mac

Kovi Schwehr

can you guys do Call Me If You Get Lost soon, I think your dad would love the production. I can hear him humming the beat for Massa now lol

Nixtod

you're giving us too much good content man thank you <3

Randy

Blue World was actually produced by Disclosure. He made a youtube video about making the track with Mac. https://youtu.be/lFTEptvdBg8

Psykopomp

Not sure if anyone has sent this to you guys, but here is a long video of Disclosure talking about working on the beat for Blue World. Really cool watch imo. https://youtu.be/lFTEptvdBg8

Erik

riley harrington

Thank you ❤️

Lucy

One of my favorite albums. Been waiting on this one. Much love

Robert Boydston

I believe ID Labs (Pittsburgh recording studio) and maybe Jerm said something about the amount of unreleased music Mac has made and possibly being more releases in the future. Correct me if I am wrong tho.

Ziggy L

I just wanna hear Faces. Faces is all I want

Courtland Hughes

Can I say that y’all are my favorite rn, and I think y’all shouldn’t change one bit about yalls self. When your father does the drum breaks by beat boxing them , I totally understand coming from years of making music . I love when people love music

Ikilledkain

SO happy you did this! Your dads reaction to it is beautiful. This will go down as one of the all time greatest albums.

Nick

I've never been able to listen to this album because of grief but this actually seems like a great chance to check it out!

Kyle K

i remember avoiding listening to this album for almost a year because i didn't wanna hear his voice knowing he's not with us anymore. I still get very sad listening to him now. truly gone too soon dude, he was the first person i've ever mourned and i didn't even know him personally. This one is special, y'all are killing it 🤘🏼

krashindigo
