However, there is a very interesting game of words. Ulya is a roe deer. In Russian the roe deer sounds like 'Kosulya'. And Soyuzmulte wanted to outplay this sound combination, so they took 'Ulya' from 'Kosulya'.
It's a new character created by owners of Soyuzmultfilm. Why him? Here goes the story:
Long time ago there was a cartoon series called 'Nu Pogodi'. It was a cartoon in decoration of anthro animals world. The show ended years ago. However, the current owners of Soyuzmultfilm decided to revive the series. Needless to say, the introduction of new characters did not do without. Among the three new characters, only Ulya deserves attention. In the series, she is positioned as a girl. However, the authors also point out that she is a roe deer. At the same time, only male roes can have horns. Therefore, Ulya is a crossdresser. (❤ω❤)
